In may im going to put some black and chrome 17x7 inch rims on my car. The tire will be 245/45/zr17. Its the last pair of these rims they have, and they will not be getting another shipment at all. The price is 700 for tires and rims together, from a shop called zisser down my street. The rims look really really nice I might add. But what im asking is if it is really nessasry for me to lower the car when i get them put on.
Here is how the car looks now, wit my stock 15's on them.

+1 17x7 will be more skinny than your stock ones. Trust us your not going to be happy with the looks of it. Just search some more and find a rim that you like thats 17x9 (it won't be hard to find one you should like). You will be much more happy with the results. 245/45/17 tires are designed for a 17x8 rim.

Inever asked anything about if the wheel would be skinny, I didnt as anything about if the wheel would hit the wheel cup. All I asked your trailer park thrash *** was if I would need to lower the car.
Don't worry about my name, its a user name. My nick name is gotti and dc is for dc shoes cuz my black *** likes to skateboard. Don't come at me with that talking black crap ever again; u don't see me coming on here talking like"dude your car is tottaly awesome" nor do I cut my hair and shift my bangs to the side like I'm some lil white boy on the Disney channel.

And no I'm not from jersey, I'm from saint louis.

yo gotti, i would say go with 17 or 18X9 and a 275/35/18 tire. Yes you will need to modify the stance of your car a bit, you can buy the springs for like $230 off AM. this will lower the car 1" to 1.25". good luck man.

this attachment is 18X9 with the same rims i wana get, the car was also lowered.

as I said before you don't need to lower it if you don't want to. It's all preference and what your budget is. If you lower the car you will also need to get shocks, struts and possibly CC plates

apparently, you need a shoulder chip remover. My comment was based on WHITE BOY NEW JERSEY SCUM BAGS, not black ppl by any means, so get that outta your head quick.

There were so many ppl trying to inform you about the HUGE MISTAKE you are about to make by buying 17x7 rims and you just wont listen. what does that make you? I wont even say it since I might hurt your ***** too much. I never mean any offense by anything I say here, I just call things like I see them.

one more time, DO NOT GET 17X7 RIMS, YOU WILL REGRET THE WAY IT LOOKS.

I guess thats the last time I will attempt to help you with the knowledge I have. I fix cars for a living, so I might have been useful to you, had you bothered to listen in the first place. sry charlie, Im done with ya.

ok see but im not white, im black.
Im going to see how the 17x7 look, i mean what could one inch do from the 15x8 that are allready on there, thats the width anyway. The 245/45/zr17 tires should hide that even more. so what should it matter. all i wonted to no is if it was a must to lower it, since its not id dont think i need to. its my car not yours, so how are u going to tell me what i would not like and what i should like.

Get real, this is the place that goes stupid mad when they see some one has put 20's on a mustang, if the person has the money let them do what they do, its not your car, so keep your opinions to your self. ****** boy.

like i said i asked one question and that one question has been answered i dont need yo dumb *** trying to start a internet fight because you feel bad about you self and your life. what ever problem you have leave it out there, dont push that **** on me.

look whos getting personal...you bitched cause you thought I said something about black ppl, then you learned my reference was actually about white ppl...so im not sure where the hostility is coming from. but anyway, in the beginning even i attempted to help you...

whats up with the double posts about all your questions?

do you even believe what we are telling you about your car, and the rims you are looking at?

back to your question...

a 245/45/17 tire on a 17x7 inch rim will bulge quite a bit and not look right or as good as that same size on a 17x8 rim. That tire will fit on a 17x7, and it will work, but it wont look right as far as the sidewall goes.

See now this is the responce i needed. You no what im going to take all you guys word in consideration, and really look at how they look when there on my car. if they look good, ill keep them if the dont, i wont. I mean where eles can i find all black 17" rims with chrome lineing, and chrome lil bolts on the inner edge of the wheel, wit 245/45/zr17 inch tires, and be put on the car all for a price on only 700 bucks, and this is from a good shop, with all diffrent kinds of wheels and stuff. they do very good work. but like you guys said, if it dont look right i will not keep them i will simply tell them to take the **** off.

Like I just put in your other post
Good luck with that. You may run into probs by telling them to take that **** off. If they mount the tire to that rim cause thats what you "ordered"...... wow..... I bet they will hit you with all kinds of charges. restocking fees for each rim and tire... mounting, balancing... dismounting..and then putting the stockers back on too! You will have pissed away about 3 hours labor in their shop and they wont even be making a sale off you. You wont be making any friends in that shop for sure. I would bet when all is said and done you will be out about 100 bucks or more just to find out what we are telling you is true. Oh and umm BTW if you DO do that (tell them to take the rims off after they put em on) dont be planning to take your car back there real soon. They might remember you and charge ya out the *** and screw your car up for another repair to be done.

I'm going to take all this in consideration, I will be going up to the shop on tues, to have them put one tire on one rim to see how the appearance of it will look. An maybe even have them put it on the car, jus to. See if it looks right atall, before I spend my money on these rims.

Even though we started off on a bad foot here, I would like to thank u guys for all your help.

They don't look that bad, if they didn't have the rivets they'd look cleaner, but they would work on a new edge mustang, I wouldn't leave the rest of the car looking stock with wheels are radical as those, though. I'm not telling you to rice the car out with body kits and ****, but I'd atleast do the mandatory mods for mustangs..grille delete, chin spoiler, shorten the antenna, and yes I would definitely lower it.

They will still look skinny on your car, though.

The wheels 2 over from the bottom left of the rack don't look bad either.

Hey Gotti, if its black rims with a chrome lip and rivets that you are looking for there are some Mustang rims you could consider. The rims you want look nice but its sucks that they are only 7" wide.

Hell you can even get Bullits with Rivits:

Bottom of the line, go with what you want. If you want the ones from the shop go ahead. Id look around more, it took me a couple months to decide cause i couldn't make up my mind.

I only payed $420 for just the rims. I got them from a place in Sarasota, FL called O.E. Wheel Distibution, they sell alot on Ebay (thats how i found them) and they have very reasonable prices. So i called them to see if i could pick them up rather than pay shiping since i live so close, they were able to put tires on as well cause they work with a near by tire warehouse.

Do you plan on rotating your tires? If so, you might want to stay with 17x9 all around. If you don't mind having shitty tire life then they also have 17x10.5 available to give you the offset look.

Heres a pic of the rims on my car (what it looks like without being lowered...going to lower mine soon):

yeah those rims are pretty sick, cant wait to hear how the ones at the shop look, on. can you try to take a pic from the rear when they are on, just incase this pops up later if someone else has the same question you did. and if they dont look good, its not a bad idea to wait and get ones specifically made for mustangs. you will like it more in the long run i feel. im dying to get new rims, but i think i might have to wait a few more months, not sure yet.

Thanks man. Mines a 2001 as well. Used to have a wing, just took it off. Thought about painting my calipers red too, but its played out and just so typical, so i went with yellow instead.
