What is the difference?

in the Sumitomo HTR Z and the Sumitomo HTR ZII??
besides about $30..

i was aobut to get new shoes for my car, and was looking at
245/45/17 (front) 275/40/17 (rear) with 99 cobra rims, I have ran 275 before and they hooked nice and looked nice to.. should i get a bigger front tire? but what is the main difference between them??

the tread design is different.

if you have 17x9's up front you might want to use a 275/40/17 up front, I think that will fit on your body style.

okay, is the HTR ZII that much better of a design? because i wanted nice tires for cheap, and hear great things about Sumies from some ppl, but horrible from others so i wanted to try them out

also the 245 looks good up front, i was thinking about maybe a 255 for something different. the 245 fits pretty nicely.. and the 275 in the rear did bulge some, but not much... actually i wouldn't call it a bulge they were BFG eagle F1 gs, and it was more of a slight outward slant.. but not much..

I haven't used the HTR-ZII's. I personally dont like the look of the tread. I doubt there is a big difference in all out traction. From the looks of it, the HTRZ is designed after the Dunlop SP Sport 8080E...a tire used on cars like the 2002 M5.

the biggest is 295 and those are in either 18's or 22's

I have used both and I prefer the HTRZ. The II's look absolutely stupid with that tread on a wide tire. I think the performance is better too.

SxyXc 01-16-2008 09:45 PM

well would it be better is i order off tirerack.com because its like 310 w/o shipping for just the tires, then get someone to put them on?? or buy them from a place locally?? i would look at discount tire.. or there is another place in town thats slightly cheaper

StormsGT 01-17-2008 07:45 AM

I got mine off tirerack.com and just had the tire shop here mount them for me. Oh, go with the 255's up front.
