need info on tires

Just got my 1st mustang the other week. I drove it last Friday while it rained and I lost control for a second. Is it my tires or is this normal for a mustang?

its normal for any car if you have:

1-worn tires.
2-driving to fast.
3-have garbage tires.
4-driving like an idiot.

Maybe it's the way you drive?

Just joking. :)

v8 stangs will notice this problem being native. short wheelbase and a lot of tq. makes for interesting times. Welcome to grunt.

There are few solutions and even fewer treatments other than a proper wet weather tire and avoiding overly stiff spring rates. Drive it careful in the rain...it's not a F1 car.

You just need to treat the rain like you would snow...(assuming you've driven in snow before). You just can't expect to accelerate very hard, and you'll be fine.
