Need Tire Help...

I am buying black FR500 rims, from here at AmericanMuscle, 18x9 for the front & DD 18x10 in the back . Now I need help finding tires for them. Are the tires for these rims really expensive because I am having a hard time finding any under $200 a tire? I dont need the super ultra whatever tires, I just need some rubber to wrap around my new rims. I use the car just for a daily driver & would like some all-season tires (Ha - like mustangs can move in the winter). But anyway, I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me because I am really disappointed that I am going to be paying more for my tires than I am for the rims :shakeno:

If you want sub-$200 tires you should have gotten 17's. you can do 2 315/35/17s and 2 275/40/17s from Sumitomo for 400 bucks...as far as your 18's take a look at Sumitomo HTRZII's from The Tire Rack.

Yea I have really been debating between 18's or 17's. That is pretty much the reason I havent ordered the rims yet. But I was leaning toward the 18's just for the looks & they weren't that much more expensive than the 17's. Is there really that much of an appearance difference between the 17/18's? I am all for the looks but if its going to cost me that much extra for the 18's tires I might have to reconsider. Anyone got any opinions... 17's or 18's??? Keep in mind money is tight.

Price Diff????

I really dont think there is much of a diff. between 17 and 18 in tires. I am only on my first set of 18s btw but I bought 2 sets of 17in tires and 1 set of 18s. If there IS any diff its not by much, and surely not enough to make me want to get a smaller rim. Just my .02c worth anyway.

18 inch tires cost a LOT more than 17inch tires. have you checked out pricing lately??
