Hey i am no expert at cars as u guys prob already know

but

I was wondering if it is bad or good or ok or wat IF

I run 275's in the front and 315's in the back , Both suMMitumo, is that a good package to run or no let me know

Rite now i have 275's on both rear and front

BEcause i am thinking about ordering the SUmmitmo 315's are they good ...

Becasue recently my front tires have been wearing very very very quickly,
probably cuzz of cornering to hard but anyways

let me know about the 315's in the rear, if i shud or not

and if any of u guys have pics of these can u post em thanks

and r they gonna wear faster or r they not godd for my car becasue of my susispion setup or wat plz let me know

This is the same setup I have been running. I am on my second set of Sumis with the same sizes you are talking about.

Keep them balanced regularly and they will last as long as possible.

Also, the wearing of the inside corners on the fronts is something you will just have to live with. There really is no fix for it especially if you have an after-market suspension. You can try to change the alignment, but the shops will revert to "stock" alignment settings. You need to let the shop know so they can try to help you. But even at that, it will still be an issue.

I love my Sumis! I have a 375 rwhp car too.

sumis are a fine tire if your on a tight budget. Obviously you'll need a 10" or 10.5" rear wheel for 315's.

I never had any problems with my tires "butterflying" where they wear funny because the camber is off. How fast they will wear will depend on how much you drive and how hard you drive. CC plates will correct alignment problems and allow for adjustability but won't really reduce the life of your tires. No need to roll your fenders either.

so they will fit fine on my car, nothing hitting or too much stress on my susipsion or anything,

They will fit fine with a lowered car and stock suspension. Do you have 10-10.5 inch wide rims though? If not, your not getting those big ass tires on there.

you've got plenty of tire in the back, I don't see any reason to get more expensive meats to wear out in the same amount of time.

You need the right rims for whatever you're putting on. No less than a 10.5" rim for 315's IIRC. The 275's shouldn't be on anything smaller than a 8.5" (9 is best) rim. Typical stock rims for mustang GT's is 17x8, 9" is only stock on some cobras (not all).

Brand of tire is almost not a concern anymore but sumis have been good to many of my buddies so I can't fault them.

Having your car lowered without CC plates is a chief cause of short front tire life. If you don't have them already, then get a set of Maximum Motorsports CC plates and then tell your alignment shop to get their face out of the factory specs and set it up with a little negative camber (1 degree is sufficient for most), all the positive caster you can get, and a pinch of toe-in. That usually helps to correct the inside edge tire wear.

315's will almost certainly rub if your fender well lips aren't rolled over. Rolling them is pretty simple but tedious. You'll probably also have to remove the quad shocks or you may see rubbing there. Of course it's IMPOSSIBLE to tell you anything as "fact" without knowing exactly what wheels you're using, their backspacing and exactly what suspension mods you've done to this point... so pony up with the info mang :)

As long as your suspension is intact, there's little tires can do to damage it other than rubbing which damages the tires more in most cases.

EDIT: I use 275/40/17 all the way around to insanely great effect. A good suspension setup will do more for grip than any tire ever will.

I have Eibach Sportlines and was running 315's in the rear (10.5 in. rim) and 275's up front (9 in. rim) with no rubbing (did NOT roll my fenders) and no uneven wear or cupping on the tires. That was on 17in. wheels. You'll be fine.

Rubbing should nto be a problem. I have a Bullit suspension, so my car is lower only about a inch....at most, and my 315's have never rubbed.

The Summis are a bit narrower then Nitto DR's. 315 Nitto DR's are nearly an inch wider. Why? I have no idea.

BTW, I have been told by the guys at Kauffmans that even with CC plates the insides of those tires will wear. I am not an alignment expert, so just reporting my source.

how does everyone else get away with 315's and I always see gnarly cuts in the rear treads... Can it be that there are just that many people around here not using the right backspacing and I've just never noticed... probably, knowing my luck.

In my experience, the insides wear because the outside tire is being dragged through hard turns. It's semi-native to the implementation of our suspension but not insurmountable.

Note: After getting my MM forward offset A-arms that problem disappeared on my car, and it was SEVERE before. I have more trouble now chewing up the outside of the tire on hard turning but that's because I have so much front grip now with the MM kit that I can really turn super hard and fold the sidewalls over a good bit and still not notice that I'm actually turning that hard.

CC plates help but no they're not a 100% solution. But, for 200 bucks... you get at least improved tire life and the flexibility to run negative camber for the street and twisties and then you can set them straight up for less rolling friction on the drag strip.

I'm going in in a week or so for another alignment check. I think I'm going to go all the way up to -2.5 camber and see if it helps the push I get on corner exit. Argggh... see once you start tinkering you just can't stop. That's the problem.

do u guys think its worth it to have to get 2 new rims for me to fit the 315's and cc plates or shud i jsut keep my same setup i need one new pair of tires any way cuzz my fronts r woren down soo bad right now

Not sure, but I had no problems, and I didn't remove, flip or do anything with the quad shocks either. I guess it could also depend on how much travel the rear suspension has of the cars you are seeing. If your suspension has alot of travel, you would definitely need to roll the fenders.

I had 17x10.5 on the rear and ran Nitto, Goodyear and BFG and never liped a tired, with my H&R Supersport springs. Oh yeah, and ran 315s on each.

that's true... every single car I saw with 315's on it was sitting at darn near stock ride height in the rear and had lots of travel available... they were all drag cars or really trying to look the part.

also how much shud i put my other rims up for sale my 17x9 my used one jsut as a pair??
