Quick TOTALL Newb Ques.
 
Ok, so I am not only a complete newb, new to mustangs and cars in general, but I am also prety cheap. But here is the deal, I recently got a, black, 2000 Mustang GT, 50,000 miles. I love the heck out of it. My main question is about rims, I have stock rims on it, and I was told they are 17 inch, but I wasn't sure, and I wanted to get the black bullits on it, so would I want to get the 17 by 8's? I want to stick with stock size, and I was also wondering if I could lower it a little bit with stock springs and everything. I just wanted to fill out the wheel well a little more, thinkin maybe like an inch... IDK. Also, this is a little random, but Like I said, I am a totall newb, I was just curious, If I was going to get into tuning the stang, on a relatively cheap budget, IE. Prolly not supercharging or turbo (Though I would love to, I just can't afford that and college) How much gains do u guys get out of it, its already got flowmasters and a few of the basics. Well in regards to your Rims.

Stock rim size is 17x8.

the black bullitts that American muscle sells are 17x9. Id get 17x9s in the front and 17x10.5s in the back.

As in your lowering question, You say you want to lower it a tad, well id recommend springs, if you want to lower it just a tad, something like the Sprangz springs or the Ford Racing springs. they are really cheap.

Over all, Rims = about $600. Tires = $300-$400 for all four. So your talking abotu $1,000 for rims and tires.

And then springs abotu $150. and $200 for install if you dont know how to do it yourself.

American Muscle only carries the C Springs, which are much lower and ride harder than stock. The Sprangz DD (which stands for daily driver) is good for just that, lowering without compromising ride quality that much. I think the FRPP F series springs would be good for lowering it only a little, but someone else can refresh my memory.

b or f springs from FRPP would be ideal. B's won't lower it but .75 to 1 inch, F's go a little lower but have a more aggressive rate curve. Since you're lowering it, you really should replace the shocks and struts with something like a tokico blue or illumina set and some Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates. Then at least you'll be able to get a good alignment and not have to burn through tires.

Stock are 17x8 but really, 17x9 is so worth the extra 10 bucks a tire in traction. I don't like 10.5's in back. Personal preference.

Don't bother with most of the bolt-on bits. They give little power for the money. Exhaust is a nice cosmetic mod, maybe a 70mm TB and then just leave it till you want a blower.

Hey thanks for the replies. Qucik question on the supercharge/turbo charge. I might eventually do it, I do however want to stick with the same engine and everything, but I was curious what would be the best way to go, supercharge or turbo? I know a lot of drag cars turbo, but I know roush, cobra and saleen are super. Just curious. Also, say I was going to do either or, Is that a prety major overhaul to the engine? Like I heard you have to almost rebuild the engine before, so it dosn't screw it up. And if I do end up wanting to do that, I am almost certain I'll have to get someone to do it for me... Thanks again!
