17 x 10.5

I went to discout tire because they have some cobra wheels there that i want to get. I told them that i wanted the 17x9 in the front and the 17x10.5 in the back. He said that the 17x10.5 tires on the back wouldnt fit because they rubb on the shocks on a 1998 mustang gt. Is this true, has anyone ran into this problem?

only problem would be it might rub with wider tires like 315 or 335 on the rear bu it would only rub the quad shocks which you can remove.

Basicly its not a problem. the wheels themselves dont rub anything.

I have 10.5 Bullitts on a 96 with 315's. The right tailpipe had to be slightly rotated inward, the quad shocks flipped or removed and the the inside of the wheel well needed massaging with a BFH to alleviate a rub issue under hard cornering. Now they fit great with no rubbing at any time.

is fliping the shocks hard?

Remove the bolt on the front end of the quad. Remove the bolt on the rear end of the quad. Flip the quad shock end for end. Reinstall bolts. Repeat for the other side.

It will take you four times as long to get the car up on jack stands and the wheels off as to do the job.

Not to jack this thread but what will happen of I remove my quad shocks? Anything good or bad?

nothing really all it does is just help prevent wheel hop a little . If you have a good pair of Upper and Lower control arms they are not even nessasary.

they help control wheel hop, if you have aftermarket lower control arms they dont do crap anyhow.
