will i have problems with this?

hey everyone, i am sure this has been asked before, but i have a 96 gt, i was going to lower the car and do all the fun suspension mods but i think i am going to go a different route. i was planning on getting some weld drag lites or a similar rim and put some drags on the back. not quiet sure yet if i want full out slicks or just drag radials. lets say i went with a 28" tall tire in the back, like a MT or something, would this fit without lowering the car? also what size rims would you suggest for front and back?

thanks for the help!!!

I would recommend you not running any time of slick unless you have a good rear otherwise you'll break it on your first pass! Go with some dr's if your rear is stock and you should be okay...

yeah that crossed my mind. i was thinking about getting the mickey thompson et streets. they seem to do the job at the track but also provide a good ride on the street.

you'd still be pushing it close to the edge with et streets, but you should be okay as long as you don't launch high!

I swapped a complete rear in mine yesterday. Upon inspection of my old one i had a side bearing broke in half. Could of been that way for a while. Luckely i swapped rears and the rears new owner opened it up. He was putting a mini spool in.

im running Nitto DRs, Heat them up and they hook extremely well.

unless you have some 4.10s in your rear. Going to 28" is probably going to slow you up. But 28" tucked under there will look great. Keep an eye on the fender lip. And if you know how to roll them with a baseball bat, do it.
