Rear springs?

Ok, since I got long tube headers on the car my h pipe scraps often on speed bumps, or any damn thing it seems. I have been thinking of putting the stock springs back on just the rear of the car to raise the exhaust up some. Does anyone have lowering springs on just the front, or is this just dumb? I got the sportline springs on the car now, and just hate to hear the metal on blacktop sound, so any idea's would be great.

It's going to be raked like muther. You can either be high or low, or raise the exhaust up.

Raising up the rear will fuck up the handling of the car. It'll drive really nose heavy and plow like a bitch in corners. Kinda dangerous outside a drag strip if you ask me.

If you want to raise it up then there are ways. Do you have the spring isolators installed with the springs? If not adding those will pull the car up a tad and help you clear those bumps. Note that longtubes are always going to rub a little easier and you have to drive a bit differently around bump laden places... even as much as planning ahead and not entering a particular parking lot.

Coil overs make this sort of adjustment a tool-less affair that takes about 5 minutes in your driveway with a jack.

Well, I didn't think about the handling of the car. I do have the isolators on the front and back of the car, and try as much as you can to avoid bumps of all kinds. I guess it's just going to be something I got to live with for now.
