Spring placement question

This article says to place the pigtails facing the drivers side.
"The bottom pigtail-end should be facing the driver’s side of the car for both sides, ensuring proper seating of the springs"

any ideas guys/gals?

should they face the rear, or the drivers side?

or can i just do either but just keep it the same on both sides, and yes im installing those lower control arms, with h&r supersports

Mine are facing the rear on all four corners.

As long as both are the same it doesn't really matter. The difference between the MM and the AM directions is about 1/8th of a turn, so don't worry about it.

see.. this is why I use coil overs. None of this pigtail goes that way bullshit. Stick the spring on the stick and spin the collar to the desired ride height. The CO springs weigh 10lbs less too.

Dammit, don't temp me with rear coilovers! ...now i'm going to have to budget them into my plans. I've got adjustable RLCAs, how would the performance difference be if I went with the high rate MM tq. arm springs vs. a proper rear c/o spring rate? Same performance potential or more with the C/O?

I'm assuming you mean with a tq arm in place.

In stock location the springs in the rear are pretty far from the axle centerline and end up sharing some of the same problems as the front with high spring rates for modest wheel rates. The CO in the rear helped a lot more for me than I thought it could even before the tq arm was ever installed. You can use a lighter spring and a much stiffer sway bar so you can have a not harsh ride but still corner well. I think there's a lot more tunability with the CO setup and it's way easy to adjust. Overall the rear co I think should come with the front.
