autocross

over the weekend me and a friend went to a local autocross event just to watch, it looked really fun and i'd like to get into it.. but i'm a noob when it comes to setting up suspension, so what are some good parts to get (other than springs, shocks, and struts) i have all stock suspension right now

Proper tires for the event are going to be almost as much help as anything at the speeds you'll be going (slow). You can cut fully 2 seconds off your time by running an R compound tire instead of street tires.

I'd start with Tokico Illumina's or Bilstein's all around, H&R SS or Steeda Sports or FRPP C springs, Maximum Motorsports CC plates. I'd also consider a watts link or Panhard Bar and a set of cobra brakes up front with EBC green or yellow pads and plain faced rotors. Change your brake fluid too... I like ATE Super Blue. Best you can get for the money.

Seriously though... the tires will be a HUGE help. Everything else is a slippery slope down the modding road.

I agree that getting good tires is one of the most important mods. You may not need a full on slick or comp tire like a Kuhmo v710 but perhaps a Bridgestone RE-11 or Kuhmo MX. If I were you I'd do a few events with the stock suspension before moding anything. You will get a good idea of what you really want to do with the car and where it needs improvement. You may end up not wanting to invest the money, who knows. I am a beleiver in stiff springs, light anti-roll bars, sticky tires.
