Lowering springs

Ive been thinkin about puttin lowering springs on my 2000 v6 vert, and i guess i have a few questions. 1. Will i have to worry about hitting my front end on uphil ramps or whatever? 2. Would anyone recomend any springs or does it really not matter? 3. Should i buy new or used? 4. Would i really have to worry about scraping if i put a chin spoiler? Aaalso i know its off topic, but if i put 4.10 gears should i try to DYI or to autoshop?

Worrying about scrapping depends on how low you go. Do you want an inch drop, 1.5, 2 inch?? I have scraped my chin a few times on sever gutters, and have scrapped my cats on numerous speed bumps, but I'm also pretty low. I bought new ones, but if you can find some used ones cheap go that route.

No offense, but if you couldn't handle installing an auto shifter handle I wouldn't recommend attempting gears.

K, and idk wth is with my shifter GRR! And yeah on that i prbly figured unless it was really easy id just send to a shop to do it. I dont think i want 2inch cause its prbly too low, either 1.5 or 1"

I'd look more into gears, you'll need a tuner as well, and the installs are usually pretty pricey. Not as cheap as your assuming.

Also there are thousands of suspension threads answering many of your questions, wouldn't hurt to check them out.

Gears/tlok and their install can often be up to $800

I have HR Super Sports 1.75 front 1.6 rear.. no Iso's on rear, top iso's on front...

I scrape my H pipe EVERYTIME i go on my driveway and most speedbumps..

I like my C-springs, and I never scrap. The drop is subtle and looks alright. My car handles pretty good with them.

*sidenote...you still haven't fixed your shifter? What is taking so long?

Get the FRPP Handling Pack. Modest drop but everything matches the car, perfectly. Anything more than a 1" drop w/ stock stuff up front is only going to be for looks and not handling. So far, I have never scrapped w/ that set-up, even w/ LT's. My old Eibach Pro-Kit (1.5" drop) was a different story.

No i havent, had no time to look at it, and im just gunna say fuck it and have a shop fix it. Yea i definatly dont wanna go below 1.5, and im not worried really about hitting speed bumps or anything but im more worried about going on ramps up or down, and smashing a chin spoiler, cuz im my town i got some nasty ones that curve about like this /. Because right now im lookin at, hood scoop+paint and then chin spoiler and mach1 grill delete. Then probably lowerin springs and etc etc.

If you are worried about it and have large obsticales where you live then I would go 1"-1 1/4" drop such as the bullitt/mach1 springs which are a 1" drop or the steeda sports which are a 1 1/4" drop. Both will lower it and make it look nicer, handle better, while not being to low and scrape all over.

I rock the Bullitt springs with KYB AGX adjustable shocks/struts and its a good combo for a street car, but I wish I had gone with Strange shocks/struts for better weight transfer. The KYB's for my use, are to stiff even on the softest setting on the struts.
