Default 2004 GT suspension.

hey guys, i had a question.
i have an 04 GT with 18k on the motor, and im doing some suspension work...im gonna put in H&R super sport springs which have a 1.75" fr + 1.5" rr drop. my question is do you think i should replace the shocks too? or do you think the stock ones would be fine to deal with the drop. thanks.

The best idea would be to replace the dampers now. With the super sports you will eventualy have to do it, the stockers will only give you a harsh ride and blow out soon. If money is not an issue then call up Maximum Motorsports and ask for the sport valved Bilstiens. If you can't afford the Bilstiens then the Tokico Illumima adjustables are a great option also. I choose the Illimunas for the price and the ability to firm them up for AutoX and then have a softer ride for the ride home.

also check out artsparts on corral.net. Bilstein's valved to MM's HD spec should be fine. Other options like Tokico Illumina's are also quite good. You may want to look into some MM Caster Camber plates too. They'll help you get the alignment dialed in to a nice tire friendly setting. Not all cars need them after being lowered to get back to a good setting but most do.

pure, i was looking on stangsuspension.com, its a great site. i was looking at the Eibach Sportline kit w/ springs a dampers, i think this is 1.5" drop all around.. pretty decent price too. im looking for a significant drop, close to 1.75" - 2" once everything settles after a while.
also r3d, i checked out the bilstein setup, looks just as good.

I have h&rs with the stock shocks although I only drive 2,500 miles a year, these guys are right as you might as well change them now BUT believe it or not it rides very well even with the stockers.
