how hard is it to install springs and c/c plates
 

how hard is it to install springs and c/c plates. i know i can do the springs but is there any thing i should know before i do it.

and how hard are c/c plates to install or would i be better to take the car some ware to have them put in?

Depends on the equipment/space that you have

I just installed a set of MM CC plates. My best advice would first be to get something (say a thick chisel) to stick in the slot at the top of the threads on the struts. When you try to loosen the strut-top nuts, they're usually on there so snugly that the shaft of the strut will turn instead of the nut backing off of the threads. I used a chisel to hold the shaft in place while I removed the nut. I was told that an impact wrench would solve this problem, but in my case it just made everything spin really quickly. Hey, at least now I've got an impact wrench.

Other than that, the only "scary" part of the install was drilling the fourth hole for the CC bottom plate. I don't think that all CC plates require the drilling of an extra hole, but MM plates do. I just used the stock plate as a template (as per the instructions) and measured everything out carefully. Also use some silicone to stick the new bottom plate underneath the strut tower to hold it in place while you use the nuts to attach it.

Lastly, just make sure that you follow the instructions for installing the spacers above/below the bearing.

I haven't gotten the car back on the ground yet, but taking my time made the install go smoothly.

Good point, I have never taken that into consideration when I give advice on whether something to install is easy or not. I think springs and C/C plates are easy, but if you don't have all the needed tools then it can be a pain in the butt I guess.

i have a lot of space my dad has a lot of tools so i dont think i will have a problem find what i need.

rear spring are easy, disconnect the shock at the top or bottom, jack under the center diff first, then lower the rear some, spring shouldnt have any tension and just pull out.

front, put the jack under the control arm, bust the top strut bolt loose, lower jack, spring should fall out, swap CC plates, 3-4 bolts, put the new spring in, jack it back up, tighten the strut bolt, drive to alignment shop.
