Yes you need CC plates and shocks as well. It wont be long before the stock ones blow out .

kk, what shocks do you reccomend?

V6_Mustang_Power 01-20-2008 06:45 AM

after you lower it, get an alignment and see if its out of spec. If it is get CC plates, if not, dont worry about it. I bought a set and never used them because my car was well within spec after I lowered it.

another good shock/strut option is Tokico Illumina or Bilstein. I'd get the illumina.

I got the same springs last month and went with the Illuminas (as advised by r3d) and couldn't be happier. The ride is only slightly more harsh than stock, my opinion. Plus, the Illuminas are not tremendously expensive.

Edit: In regard to you actual question, It would proably be best to go ahead and get c/c plates. Even though I just recently went through installing the same springs, I can't say if they are absolutely needed becuase I installed c/c plates at the same time. When I went to get my alignment though, they didn't even have to adjust my caster or camber becuase I got it back so close to spec. I'm sure If I didn't have the c/c plates they would have had to adjust the stock plates, probably to the max.
