If you go w/ the torque arm, might as well get the panhard bar at the same time.

FYI, the "Heavy- Duty" MM LCA's should not be used for drag racing. According to MM. They might work fine on a low HP car that doesnt see the drag strip that often.

torque arm is a pretty serious change and requires the PHB. I LOVE mine and the grip is insane but you'll have to set it up for the power you're making and your gearing and the weight of the car. I'd probably start with the PHB and rear coil overs and go from there.

Gear will make it hook harder so you will spin more if you dont' have tyhe right set up. What you have now is probably adequate, give it a try and go from there

gears don't cause 'hook'. Gears cause torque multiplication. If you can HOOK the TIRES up to the GROUND with minimal spin with steeper gears, then you should see a reduction in 60' times and subsequently shorter ET's. You change grip with suspension changes. If you add more gear up to about 3.73's life is great. 4.10's are loved by pretty much all but me. I just don't like the ratio. Doesn't drive right for me.

Evil.. how do you know what cpthowdy has is appropriate? You're making a lot of assumptions and giving poor advice. Knock it off.

why, cuz i've probably forgotten more about setting up a drag car than most will ever know, and since when is telling sombody to try what they got before they spend more money bad advice? OK how about this, I'm all wrong, you need to go to , insert name of suspension place here, and spend another $1000 on stuff cuz I read somwhere thats wht you need, there is that better. AND i should of put hit the tires harder, not hookl i was thing one thing an typing another. But thats probably bad advice too.

I love it when the smart guys clash......

Anyway, when giving advice just be sure you are looking at it from the perspective of the guy asking the question, and not your own. Just that alone can can change advice 180 degrees.

Now, let the games begin.....

The fact of the matter is that thanks to the thousands of other enthusiasts that came before us, we have PROVEN combinations established for various effects. If you want X to happen to your car under Y circumstance, change Z to Z(1).

I've personally set up more suspensions than I care to remember but, no matter how seriously any customer wanted 1320 better track times they've never been willing to go the full nine, so what actually works best and what will work best for 22yo college kids who drive every day and leaves them with a drivable and safe street car are different.

I would never set up someones car like mine is but it'd sure handle great. My car is for me, all my cars have been for me. You really have to put some thought into knowing the kind of people asking for the advice and make sure that what you give them solves not only the question they ask but the more important questions they never will ask.

On a very personal level, I think any mustang without full coil-over suspension, tubular control arms and a MM torque arm and a watts link or PHB is as good as crippled. I know just as well that most guys can begin to tolerate the maintenance requirements associated with un-crippling their car, so few get a recommendation to go that way.

EDIT: Evil, If you think I'm pickin' on you, I'm not. You'll know when I do. I and seemingly waterDR are saying think about all the facets of the question and the asker, then answer.

Did you read about the LCA's you bought before buying them? On MM's site...

well... post up some pics of the LCA. We'll see if it's a safe drag/street/track spring.
