Default Strange noise in rear - need advice.

I'm about to upgrade my suspension, waiting for the parts. Currently when I stop abruptly or corner hard, I may hear a sound which I think is coming from the driver side rear that sounds almost like a bunch of rocks or ball bearings rolling around in the trunk or fender well. I can't seem to pinpoint it. My bushings look normal as far as I can tell on my rear upper / lower control arms, not sure what else it could be. Doesn't sound like the axle or differential. I'm basically looking for any advice as to where to look next or if anyone has heard of this before. Thanks!

welcome to the club. So far I've found a nut floating around inside my trunk lid, a socket in my frame rail (my fault), a screw inside my mach460 speaker box and a host of other loose items inside the body work.

I'll bet that it's your diff chattering. Add some equa-torque or ford limited slip additive. If it improves, there's your answer. Otherwise... you can use the r3dn3ck rattle finder... a hammer and a buddy.

Yeah, I thought it might be that too, but i've removed all loose items that I can find, and it doesn't sound like a diff chatter, i've had that before too right before the clutch bearings went out, but the sound is coming more from the wheel side. In some cases it sounds like a spring binding up, but in others it sounds literally like rocks. I guess once the suspension and rear gears are changed I'll find it or resolve it, just hoping it's not something else. I hate unnecessary noise, unless its the growl of the engine. =)
