tokico suspension?

well i messaged my local mustang shop (mustang magic of bayshore) asking abotu suspension and they reccommend the tokico kit that includes shocks, struts and springs for $649 installed. anyone have this set up and have reviews?

it's basically a bullit kit. nothing special but better than generic stock GT. I'd save a couple hundred more and do a MM coil over kit. You'll be LOTS happier.

No to be a smart arse, but not sure how anyone can make a recomendation like this w/o asking you some basic questions....such as, what are your plans with the car etc....

If you want a nice street setup with something more agressive then stock while maintaining near-stock ride quality but with better handling, the Tokico setup is a nice option.

The price they quoted is very fair.

i have the bullitt kit. i love it. there was a 1" drop thats just perfect. the shock and struts definently tighten up the ride. would suggest buying to anyone who wants a decent suspension for an unbeatable price. check out speedconcepts.net, thats were i got mine, 380$ + tax and shipping.
and do it yourself, its very easy if you have just basic tools.

my goal is to get the power to the ground but its a daily driver and i chirp 2nd right now i wana make that dissapear

Then you need something more radical. The tokico/Bullitt will not transfer power to the rear any better then stock. Essentially, you need a drag suspension. I would recomend adjustibles for the from for you. They give you 5 settings generally so you can switch from drag to street in seconds.

don't trip mt's #1, I know how I can recommend something without questions of goal... because the stock style suspension sucks big donkey nuts and that's an undisputable fact. A good, well engineered, properly spec'd coil over setup will always outhandle a modified macpherson system.

I didn't tell him what spring rates to get, or to get a PHB, K-member, A-arms or any of that stuff, just a better design for shocks and springs, and it would cost the same to do the front which is the half that really needs it.

well i messaged them back asking about this suspension being like a bullitt setup. they said yes tokico makes similar suspension to the bullitt which drops its .75 of an inch, but the kit they use drops it 1.5inches........good? lol i wish i knew more about this type of stuff

1.5 is a good drop and as far as I'd go till you're ready for more serious cash outlays, it's definitely gunna look better than just the .75" drop. Handling is hard to predict without knowing spring rates and all that jazz but you can pretty well bet it'll be more sporty handling than stock.

I would not go through the trouble and expense with a coilover setup for a street only car. If your main problem is traction then getting a set of rear upper and lower control arms plus a good shock and spring combo.

really? Jeez... I wouldn't have another mustang unless I had coil over on it. I guess it's personal preference but I gotta say I can't stand the stock suspension... it just rides like crap when you jack the spring rates up far enough get a decent wheel rate. I guess I'm a bit of an odd bird though... I drive my street car like a race car and actually race it.
