Ganged By a Pack Of Civics!

I was on the way home saturday night and I passed by the local hang out spot where all the ricers usually gather at. There were other cars over there but most were Civic hatchbacks and Integras. They all have gutted out interiors with high compression N/A engines. They are light as a feather too. My buddy with his 03 GT hangs out there sometimes so I rolled past the parking lot to see if he was there.

My car is pretty loud so they all took notice when I was coming through. I didnt see my buddy so I kept going. I dont like hanging with alot of the ricer guys anyways. Most of them just kind of turn me the wrong way. As I was passing by they looked as if they were all leaving. I knew that meant that they were headed somewhere to race.

So I was going to follow them to watch the race but they stopped for a minute and I said "oh well its just a bunch of hondas." and I continued home.

So on the way home I have to pass by the interstate. As I get close to the onramp to the interstate, some loud honda jumps next to me as if telling me to follow him. You know the deal. So I did.

I wasnt able to spray the car though. I had been putting 89 octane in it because I dont really spray it in the winter. I also dont have a bottle heater and the bottle pressure sits at about 500psi in the cold. Oh well they'e just hondas!

There wasnt just this one honda but ALL of his ricer buddies. There must have been at least ten of them! They all kinda surrounded me but I held my ground letting the sounds of the offroad X pipe show them I wasnt stock. One of them jumped next to me really quick. This thing moved like a go cart. It was so light and had MAD acceleration. I wasnt scared though cause I knew it couldn't pull a good running V8 on the interstate. If it had a turbo it COULD be a different story. Obviously since this guy pulled up first he was the fastest one of the pack.

So we lined up. I dont know what speed,Iwas at 3500 RPMs in third gear before we took off. So at that RPM I floored it. The Civic followed suit and it pulled on me for a second so I got nervous. I knew that SOME civic hatchbacks are NO JOKE. After my car got pulling hard at around 4000 RPM I started walking the civic. I finally pulled a few cars since he had to shift and He just flashed his light to tell me he let off. I knew that little N/A 4 cylinder couldnt pull up top!

Then 2 of his buddies tried to race me but I just smoked them. After that they wanted me to race more but I just turned off and called it a night. If I had been able to spray it they would have really got smoked but I had fun running it N/A!

Nice dude.....I know people probably will give you crap for street racing cause it's not safe, but I still like to hear the stories! ha ha

When I had my GT Vert ricers would try to mess with me a lot, but now that I have my Mach they are nowhere to be found

haha sounds like my town..lol that stuff happens all the time here. props for shoing them who is boss. we all know street racing is illegal and dangerous, but it happens. Im going to court in the morning for just that. I also know I have no one to blame but myself..

ha ha ha...my car is such a poser, these kids in these things never bother with me. They see an older guy with a beard, think I have money (I do - LOL), hear my SLP exhaust which sounds to them like I have a 5.4, and see the 315's wrapped on my DD.

That is enough for them to not even try.

I did have a guy in a nice Vette that wanted to run from from a Stop Light, but I had my daughter wave from the back. Turned out, his kid was with him too and I think they just wanted to hear the car.

I like Vettes and many of the owners are cool guys who respect Mustangs.

STI's are slow. Nice car but slow compared to a boosted mustang. Even if it does run a 12.3X. From a roll it will get murdered. You would lose to a Z06 too if you werent supercharged. Theres always someone faster than you. So I wouldnt get so cocky.

Yah, tell ya what, all it takes is spending a bit of cash to beat a Z06 on the strip. Try to take a Z06 on a real private course where you can average over 100mph with hairpin turns, the mustangs brakes will overheat, you cant corner as well nearly as well even with a ton of suspension work, and wouldnt be able to touch the Z06. Then again, the Z06 was designed not for 0-60, but for overall performance in all areas

people seem to forget the level of engineering involved in something like a corvette, far beyond what any mustang has, sure you can soup up a stang, you can also soup up a Z06. But you will never be able to get a mustang to hang with a z06 for an endurance run on a windy course for very long. there is more to cars than a good 1/4 mile time.

i saw a show on discovery about the new vette c6, with that track that they send high end performance cars to for a real brutal endurance run, a mustang cobra wouldnt even be able to touch that level of performance. Now the Ford GT sure as hell would though.

thats why i always get a kick out of those people who have "vette killers". Yeah. sure, can beat a vet on the dragstrip, couldnt touch the thing on a real course. ya know... one with.... turns..

shut up you know were not talking about figure skating with our cars. and someone is always faster than someone. so ill be cocky. by the way i raced the sti from a stop a couple times and raped it. as i would your car, so shut it. bottle boy. as for you slappy, you can always bitch in the forums because your car isnt built for the strip or the road course, its ****ing stock, so blah. and i kill the vettes on the straights. hence me buying drag suspension, an automatic, etc. who brought up road racing anyway? its like trying to use cal ripken to beat michael jordan in a free throw contest... idiots these days...

I havent ran it at the track with everything I have on it now. As of right now it slowly walks a C5 Z06 from a 40 roll until I run out of gear at around 150mph then it might pass me.

My bonestock 2v engine had been through 2 years of NX 100 shot, 3 years running 8-12lbs vortech s-trim, got into boost daily while racing on the weekends, had 157,000 miles on it, and was running like new
