forget your egos for 1 secound.. its a figure of speech meaning it isnt fair to claim a auto is faster and prove it by racing a newer gt against an older 1. obviously you would when , to justify it we would have to get a fair race.. do you even know the meaning of fair .... my whole point to this shpeel is with a stock auto and manual the manual is quicker . sure the auto would be with some bolt ons and tuning but if you were to big headed to realize my point of "stock, same year" i dont know why i bother argue this point

Come talk to me when you run a 14.0 With a stock NPI longblock, bolt ons, A/C, Mach 460, and power leather seats. Nothing but bolt ons here. Come to think of it, run a mid 14 with your manual.

No one is saying automatics are faster, we are saying they have and advantage with a stock GT when it comes to launching. You also can't miss a shift since it's computer controlled. You started this whole thread by insulting automatics, we simply explained that muscle cars have always had automatics and that is very common to see them in very fast street cars. Nobody has said manual suck or are slower, just that it is harder to achieve the same results consistantly with them. You also have the additional worry of destroying your rear end once you get sticky tires. Most of the guys I race with at national events have to tow their cars to and from the track due to the risk of rear end breakage. They have manuals, I don't have to worry about that. I drive my car to the track, change tires and race. Once you start racing your car on a regular basis and adding mod's you will see what we are talking about. Is a matter of preference not one is better than the other.

You're damn straight I'm talking to you...I'm calling your slow ass, 96 turd out. I want to see you run a 14 flat with it, since manuals are so much faster, without gutting everything out of the car such as A/C, power leather seats, and a full on stereo, which adds weight, not power, rope-smoker.

To make it interesting, I could put my back seat, spare and jack back in and run on street tires, and still blow your doors off 19 out of 20 times. I ran 5 14.25's in a row at full weight, and countless 14.0's at my race weight.

Ever heard of consistency kid? Or for that matter, ever heard of punctuation and grammar? They must not teach that to third graders anymore.

As Dean said, once you start racing competitively, you will realize why I prefer an auto for the class I run.

ok first i have beatin a 05 secoundly my point hasnt changed at all 3rd autos are for *****s that arent coordinated enough to drive manual so they need a handicape and defind it at all cost... o by the way why arent cobra mustang automatic ...maybe because ford realized that manual is far more superior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and how do you call automatic a handicap? because it shifts for us? let me tell you again my auto requires me to shift. also, i have to deal wth a transbrake button, converter lockup, and the extra 2% power loss. so in fact, when an auto brutally makes a mockery of your car, its an extra kick in the face, compared to if it was another stickshift car that kills you.
