Tires have a speed rating for a reason. If you go 150 on a tire speed rated for only 120 there is a good chance that they might come apart on you.

So before you come onto a Forum and try and disrespect everyone on here at least tell some believable BS and not look like a complete ass.

if you have been to germany then surely you know that no cars have governors or "speed limiters" over there. what a factory speedo says it usually will do in germany. pics 4&5 are of the porsche me and my buddy rented. we maxed it out on the way the munich. the max was 330kph or 200 miles per hour. going downhill gravity helped us out and we probably hit 202 or 203mph. the older 911 you had was probably a flat 4 w/ no turbo. this car was new w/ a flat 6 w/ a turbo. thats a big difference. plus not to mention the newer technology. there were porsches available to rent where the speedo says 440kph.

and there are areas in germany where the "recommended" speed limit is 108mph or 180kph. if you're doing over the "recommended" speed limit and cause an accident, then they will charge you w/ reckless driving. speeding will not be included anywhere. i aced the test bro, i know all the laws by heart. ask me anything you want to know about german driving regulations.

pic 1 is my 2 liter 4 cylinder speedo on my opel calibra that i had. max out is 280kph which is around 168 miles per hour. so that car is capable of 165mph. when i maxed it out, i only hit 155mph cause my gas cable was loose so i wasn't able to open the throttle up all the way.

pics 2&3 are of my buddies calibra who is still in germany. i have ridden in this car. i asked him for some pics but quality was lost in transportation. the car also has been maxed out. 300kph equals 180mph. i know his car goes this fast because i watched it smoke sgt. reno's wrx sti.

when i said i didn't mean to sound like an ass, it meant no disrespect. obviously you just skimmed through it looking for sh*t to say.

oh, sorry, forgot to mention something else. yes, you are right about it not being safe to run your tires over their rating. but it is very possible. the more you go over the rating the more dangerous it is. but just to let you know i have seen soldiers run their tires 30 or 40 miles per hour over the tires rating for hours on end and nothing happened. so i don't think it's that dangerous.

Dude there only only a few car's made in the world that do 200 miles per hour plus!!Just because a speedo say's 200 DOES not mean the car will go that fast. Most cars that can are $200,000 plus and are called Supercar's.

Yes the car's there have no speed limiters but physics keep's cars from going that fast.

There is no friggen Opel in the world that will do 180 miles per hour. Are you just clueless or what.Hell a 03/04 Cobra can't do 180 and a Z06 Vette can't do over 200 miles per hour and you are saying a POS Opel can.You need to go to a Ricer board that might believe your BS but most people here now the truth.

Hey Lance...you didnt know that all cars that get driven in Germany are faster than they ever are anywhere else? yeah see...gravity is less in Germany and also the air is much lighter so the drag on your car is reduced. Also, the pavement they use is special German cement that reduces drag on your tires.

LMFAO @ this. Thats great. I highly doubt you hit 200 in a stock 911 Turbo. I know some of the RUF cars are capable, but even then they were only doing about 202 miles per hour on the History Channel special I watched. Its pointless for me to argue with you about it, if you feel you did 200 miles per hour, thats fine, but I should also note that unless this is GPS verified speed, it means nothing. Stock speedometers and such are worthless as you get into the higher speeds, its been proven time and time again. And I cant see an OPEL doing 180 in the form you are talking about either. Anyway, keep it civil, and the thread will stay.
