Exactly my point... You were banned for all of 2 minutes for whining, this guy gets 7 days, and all of his posts revoked? WTF? lol

I don't even know the guy, but it just seems rediculous..:shock2:

This guy was a dick.... it sounds just peachy to me. I remember badfish got some fairly decent bannings a year ago.

Shambles 11-06-2006 08:24 PM

Well...Badfish is a different story.

We banned him partially for fun, lol.

I was not contesting the principle behind the rule just trying to suggest that modification might be in order. As far as being "whiney", "crying" or being a "puss" I don't see how any of that has anything to do with the original post:rolleyes: . Just a free post for you kids I guess. Like I said, it was not intended to be a "complaint" just trying to bring a point to the powers that be attention.

My prior login SLVR04GT puts me as being a registered member of the board since December of 2005.

Jack, Cute kid, I can see the resemblance :tongueout:

If being an ass is what got me banned, How are YOU NOT being an ass by jumping on my thread and calling me a puss? :nono:

Now, GREG, I guess I did miss your point, I read it and responded to what I read. If you would care to enlighten me and dumb it down a bit for me. As far as proving MY "Intelligence" well, you let your spelling and grammar do THAT for you!:ohsnap:

Thanks again.

my point was this...

even if it was a "killer deal" I wouldn't jump on it... I wouldn't buy it because of this thing called trust...

Even though this is the internet... there are several members on this site that I feel I could trust and make a transaction with... these members are regulars...

So you... low post count that hasn't contributed anything good to the forums... aint too trustworthy...

Most members would agree... noone here would give you a minute and consider your sale because you spam the forum...

Don't get why you were banned?

cause yer a dick... I too am a dick... but I just joke around and the members here know that... even if you were joking around there is no way that anyone here could be confident that you were joking because of your posts...

GREG@SN95 11-06-2006 08:32 PM

I agree with the mods and admins...

they are in charge... its their rules...

and thats all that matters...

posting is a privledge... not a right... and they are in charge... just like the real world...

If you go to disney world you have to abide by the rules set up by the owner... and the security guards are there to uphold them... if you abuse them then they tell you to leave...

They don't care what you think about the rules nor do they need to...

Respect that and you will be fine... just like the rest of the active members

There are givers and takers. Before you go off and defend someone look at what they have contributed to the forums, yes thats right read all their posts and you see what they are all about. If you dont take time to help someone when they need it and all you do is want help for yourself then dont complain about how the forums should be as you are in it for yourself and not the group.

We have to divide the group into two sections, the kiddy section for members who want to fight the man and adults who know that life is about rules and if you break them they are consequences you must face. Its a simple fact of life learn it here for free at no risk to you. We are the Mods here and are considered the bads guys until you need this forum to help you out of a jam. You never know we might have to put in place an age restriction so we may cut down on infantile posts like this one.

If you like we can make this post productive and come up with a name to put members who are cry babies.

Jack The Ripper 11-06-2006 08:50 PM

I think a lot of people forget the fact that this is a private forum board and not a government provided public forum where the freedom of speech actually applies.

all in all im pretty satisfied with the moderators on here. You got a pretty broad range of personalities, some stuffy, some dicks, some nice and laid back. All in all this is a real fun forum board and more-so a community of mustang enthusiests. The moderators let us have fun on here and there are a lot of boards where "fun" doesent fly.

Its odd, but there are several people on here where i feel as close to them as a good drinking buddy even though we have never met face to face.

Sure, there are times where i raise an eyebrow or two at the action of a moderator, but hey, they were granted the authority over this domain. And they seem to do a decent job of listening to gripes and complaints, and for the most part do listen to the wants and desires of the MustangBoards community and take that into consideration when they are acting on something.

Its pretty simple, if you dont like how things are run here, yer welcome to to go somewhere they dont have any authority..... :t:

 I'm sorry, did you say meow?

WaterDR 11-19-2006 09:56 AM

Conversation I had this morning with my 5 year-old:

"Daddy, can I have some soda"

"No, not until after lunch"

"why"

"Because soda is not healthy, I make the rules, and I said so."

"Ok"

WaterDR 11-19-2006 09:59 AM

Seriously, the rules are rules. Sometimes they don't always make sense, but you have to have them. When you start your own forum, you can make your own rules. And when your first rule is "do whatever you want", don't come bitching when you have 500 members that are out of control.

I have said it a thousands times and I will say it again "as long as this forum sticks to conversations about Mustangs, it is a great forum." Whenevr we get off-track, we are not at our best. Sometimes threads get closed not as a personal attack, but because they just don't bring value to the forum.

Why?

:kekekegay: I think he's still upset about the initial purpose of this thread, saw that it was brought back to life by some random, harmless post and felt like he needed to clear the air once again. I don't think any one really cares about this thread anymore, I just jumped back in after my ban was lifted to leave a smiley face and hope thier are no hard feelings.:flamed:

And Super Trooper is one of the greatest movies ever and I couldn't resist.

You're not very smart are you? I swear. :shakeno: Its ridiculous the way people have to act on the internet.

I'm going to have to give a big +1 to the doc here. There is no point in whining, and I like the idea of banning whiners, it's annoying as hell and children whine. Grow the **** up, it's the ****in' internet. If you get banned for 2 weeks I'm pretty sure you'll still survive. If not, then you should just off yourself now and save the mods the trouble.

SLVR04GT 11-21-2006 08:03 AM

OK ... I'm curious, madmatt, what would have been the smart move? I thought that coming back in and poking fun at my old thread would show now hard feelings (I had hoped) and that like I said, "no one really cares anymore". So where did I go wrong?

Slick, when the thread was started over 2 weeks ago, I felt like I was raising a valid point. Obviously I took it to another level and it was not appreciated. I UNDERSTAND THAT!! But seriously, chiming in with this 2 weeks after the fact doesn't seem necessary.

Grow the **** up, it's the ****in' internet.
Should I have opened and new thread and just said, "Hey sorry for ruffling everyone’s feathers, lets go to a track!" Or what. I just don't get some of you people. I guess you guys just can't let some things go.
