Door Handles for exterior of Stang

hey guys
I had some fun last night. went to the movies came back and saw some jackass yanked my door handle off.. ill post a pic later, wanted to know if there are any stonger aftermarket ones available cause that cheap plastic aint doin it for me. dont want it to happen again.
thanks again

wow, that B@$terd. I feel bad for you. Problem is, even if you get a metal handle, it can still be broken off. Since he ripped it off, just get the pop a door and take the handles off. Gotta say, that sucks. Hope you find him and run him over again and again.

How much does it cost to shave your door handles? and make it so it pops open with a button like the trunk

well called ford and a new handle is 30 bucks with the same color for just the part. with the door pop can you pop one at a time or do you have to pop both always?
thanks

no, you can pop just one at a time and on the controller that you would decide. It does not pop both at a time. You have to select which one to pop.

I think autoloc makes a kit with the solenoids and everything you need. Good luck, but be prepared to spend a lot of moolah.

I've seen the kits go anywhere from 150-300 depending on the solenoid and stuff.

What I am curious about is how they shave your door handles. What do they do to make it smooth like the body? and is there anyway to do it without having to paint your entire door?

I am just getting to thinking... if this could save you some $$$... if you left the door handles on... i dont think they look bad on my 95' and add something to the side, and would look odd without them IMO. So could you leave them on as as fake? that would save you some dough... they wouldnt work, lol, but they would still be on there, and you could make it so they were so easy to rip off? No im not drunk im just out of my mind =D

I shaved some door handles for a friends 1988 mustang GT probably 15 years ago, All i did was cut and weld in some sheet metal into the opening, then grind and sand it down flush with the body. Dont try and just fill the hole with bondo. He had a key chain button and a auxiliary button hidden up under the wheel well.

No way to do it without painting. the doors when your done.

Im pretty sure you wont be allowed to run at the track if you shave your door handles.

Hmm good point, im guessing it would have to be track rules. but the car i did above did run at Cecil county drag strip in maryland. My closest track. but that is a good safety issue if they have to get you out. But if the cars in that of a wrecked up shape, the doors probably wont open anyway. I destroyed my last mustang in a high speed wreck long ago and the doors wouldnt open. I had to climb out the windows.
