Move Spoiler Back Or...

My car is going back into the body shop on Monday to have the trunk lid repainted because I am not pleased with the work that was done on it when I got rear-ended. But anways... the actual trunk lid was from an '03 and thus it had the holes drilled for the '01-'04 spoiler, but I wanted my stock '00 spoiler back on.

To cut to the chase I really hate the look of this spoiler from the side. It looks ok from the front, at an angle, or from the back, but it looks like complete shit from the side. It just sits right on top of the trunk; it looks so goofy. I've been thinking about either having them paint the '03 spoiler and drill through the bonded epoxy they used to fill the holes and have them fill the holes they had to drill to put my spoiler on OR move my spoiler back. I'm assuming I will have to have the present holes filled if I move it back too?

I hate to do so much more drilling and filling but it is going to be refinished and painted fresh again so now is definitely the time to have it done. I just hate knowing that I have filled holes in the trunk lid for some reason. I would rather open up the trunk and see no filled holes.

Any thoughts? I can't decide which to do...

move it back or nix it all together.

Don't really care for the no-spoiler look and I *do* like the moved-back look but what I *don't* like is the fact that the spoiler doesn't line up with the edge of the trunk lid perfectly. I saw a white V6 the other day that had the spoiler moved back and the back edge of the spoiler hung over the edge and the front edge didn't meet up unto the edge... if that makes sense.

Plus I have to drill new holes and have the current ones filled in meaning I will have four filled in holes in the lid. Or should I not have them filled?

have them filled for sure.

I love the moved back spoiler on 99-00 cars.

If I had the 01-04 trunk with the spoiler, I'd just go with that.

In order from most liked to least liked:

01-04 spoiler w/ trunk lid
No spoiler w/ wholes filled
99-00 spoiler w/ trunk lid

Depending on the mustang and what else is done to it i'm not a huge fan of the no spoiler. The 01-04 looks the best, but if you do go 99-00 definitely move it back.

Well the body shop just compound buffed the scratches out because the clear coat sucked down in to the holes that were filled in. So I don't really have the option to have the car repainted at the moment and I was thinking what my other options were.

I know there are a few wings out there that use the stock hole positions and that's what I'm looking at right now. All that comes to mind is the Saleen and Steeda wings. Anything else?
