Default Anyone heard of or used this cowl hood?

I have been looking around for a cowl hood and found a few I like. Has anyone used these before or know about them?

I also really like the VIS carbon fiber cowl hood, but that little line in the front of the hood in the center of the cowl pisses me off. If it was able to be sanded down a bit right there before paint to make it go away I would be for it. Lighter hood, plus cowl makes for a win.

Never heard of them and the hood will still cost 450-480 bucks if you include shipping.

I don't really care about the price. I found another guy who told me to look into these who has one and likes it. I know your not getting a hood without spending $450 before paint regardless. I'm just checking out my options and whats out there now. Back when I had my F150 there was two choices for hoods lol.

See that line that goes down the center of the cowl. I hate that. It looks like a cowl hood for a old 60's camaro or Chevy truck. Why couldn't it be smooth. Th

Though I still like it and I am considering it. I need a new hood here soon so I need to make up my mind.

Any other opinions on whats out there?

When I was looking for a cowl hood awhile back I looked at HO Fibertrends. I heard nothing but great things about the fitment/quality and they had a good prices. I was looking at the 2.5".

I have seen their 4" in person and its really nice quality, but that 4" is huge!

I wonder what the weight difference is between stock and each one. I would love to know that.

Yeah 4" ones look out of place just on daily driven street cars.

That's the other thing. I don't want a huge one because well I only make 380rwhp so its not that fast lol.

Yeah the line down the center ruins it for me. Otherwise I wouldn't of made this thread at all. Only reason I still like it is due to the really light weight.

But does anyone know the weight of a stock 99-04 mustang hood with the scoop?

Ok I just found out the stock 01-04 hood with scoop is 43lbs. So I would drop almost 20lbs. with a hood swap and have a cowl hood. That's a win/win for me!

Yeah the 2.5" is perfect. 4" is way too tall if not needed.

I looked at cowl hoods forever before I finally just got a Mach 1 instead because a good deal came around. Cowl hoods look great on our cars, gives them such an american sports look. Here are some pics of the 3" one from TruFiber.com which I was really really considering. I couldn't decide between this one or the 2.5 from H.O.Fibertrends.com.

Your stock hood is weak ****. You need a hood really badly.

I think this pic on HOfibertrends page sold me.

Who is it here that has hood pins with metal lines that connect the pins to the car and go into the front grill opening? That setup is awesome!

Not as much as I need a window switch and a FP gauge... But I am working on it, found one on CList that is a possibility depending on the fundage.

Umm.... It's one of the red V6's.. "Must See" I think..

I think the hood pins with the lines would look awesome on your car Dustin. They'd flow with your car, I do agree that they look out of place on some mustangs though.

I like that hood and I called Kaenan to see if I could stop by and get one. But with no call backs I got pissed.

I bought a hood though, so now everyone has to wait for it to be painted.

I can't wait to see what hood you went with and what it looks like on our color cars.
Since we live 700 miles apart, I might copycat your setup. Sorry
