Need some opinions on rear bumper

I have a 98 laser red 6 with the black mustang inserts and duel exhaust I could have posted a pic but I'm at work

My question is

should I paint the lower part of the bumper black like in this guys pic
http://wickedstangsperformanceshop.c...94-98_pic1.jpg

personally I think it looks good so I will probably do it but I would like to give you guys the chance to tell me if I am making a mistake or not

I will be using a sand block and sand paper to do it cause it's such a small area but I need to know what order of grits to go in to prep the area properly

what do you guys think

yeah it looks a bit sportier...I always loved that spoiler too!

does starting with a 400 and moving up to a 600 sound about right

then prime wait for that to dry go over it again with 600 then paint or do I have that wrong

I really want to do this right and I am more than willing to put in all the nessesary work

Thats what I was gonna suggest, since thats the method I'm doing on my side mirrors of the car.

Ok so here is my plan

wash whole car

use meguiers clay bar kit on whole car

wash again (whole car)

wax everything but the bumper space I want to paint

wet sand 400 then 600

prime let dry

wet sand primer with 600

3 coats of whatever black paint I end up choosing

2 coats of clear coat appropriate to the paint that I use

I'm thinking the whole thing could run me around 100 bucks and take a weekend if I work on it saturday and sunday
