Hole in hood..where scoop was.

I'm really regretting putting my hood scoop on.. and I'm considering taking it off. I had a billet grille painted black in... and the car wash blew one of the grilles out so I finally said fuck it and I'm taking it out. My question is I drilled one hole to hold the scoop in place, and it would be open for a month or so until I had some body work done. Do you think water coming through would be a major concern? I considered just covering it up with something black to get through until I got it filled...but my roommate keeps telling me to just wait until I take it to a body shop. What do you guys think?

I would say try to cover it with something even if its just temp. You wouldnt want water gettin near ur ign coils or fuel rails or all that and just pooling there. I washed my engine water went into an ign coil and engine started mis firing and all that. If i was you I would try to keep water away from the engine. If you are thinkin of gettin rid of that hood scoop i might be interested in it PM if you want.

It's probably a good idea to plug it, but it isn't a big deal if you can't. Every time it rains, your hood gets wet anyway. Hoods aren't waterproof.

why cant you wait?

does the scoop bother you to the point you would rather have a eye soaring hole in your hood till you can afford body work?

I didn't see anything helpful in your post dude. And who's this "ricer poster" anyway?

-ON TOPIC-

How big are these holes?

my hood has two BIG holes in it and i havent had any problems. Your motor isnt made out of suger after all. I wouldnt worry about it, get it fixed when u can.

Could use vinyl to cover the holes
