when i redone my car.. i used a clay,, it was more expensive than bondo.. If thats a fiberglass bumper your just screwed.. If its urethane its possible to kinda like weld it by melting.

it's a OEM bumper

if its fiber glass, you can fix it. my ex took my car through two poles and the fiberglass hood was seriously messed up. it just takes time, patience and a little bit of craftyness. haha. sand the area around it down to the fibers and start fiberglassing it.

u said it "PATIENCE"

I second the fiberglass idea. If you have everything you need, it should be fairly easy (just have to fiberglass it right). You lay the fiberglass, cut off the extra and smooth it out, rough it up a little and paint it. Usually you can get away with it being fairly cheap.
