Problems with Sequential tailights

Just installed a wire in sequential tail light kit on my 2001 over winter break. After about a week sometimes when i turn on a turn signal it will blink very fast like bulbs are out. It seems like a hit or a miss, sometimes it will do it sometimes it wont, sometimes it will be the left and sometimes the right but most of the time it works fine. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have you checked the connection? Maybe it's not tight, which would explain why it's hit or miss. I've never heard of them going too fast, though.

no the front blinkers go fast and in the rear it seems like its only the outer two lights that seem like theyre out, so only one light in the back will blink at regular speed. it has to be something with the wiring because the bulbs are def not out.

Hmm...maybe wired backwards (if possible)? I'm not familiar with it's wiring setup, so I can't really tell you for certain, but that's what it sounds like.

nah, i went very carefully step by step and the instructions were very thorough and included pictures. they work fine when im not having those specific problems. and i doubt the instructions are wrong. This really has me puzzled.

Take it over to a car toys then and just have them look at it for a few minutes. You might even get away with a free fix.

The bulbs blink fast when the voltage is wrong from a blown bulb (when you have stock setup) so if its doing it now you either have the wiring wrong or the bulbs are bad. Mine did that the last 3 weeks randomly flashing faster and sometimes normal. Till my bulbs in the taillight blew out.

so just go ahead and replace the bulbs?

Yeah I would get some new bulbs and see if thats solves it.
