Mustang w/GT Hood Scoop

Hi, I have a '99 Ford Mustang. I want it to look like a Mustang GT. When I bought the vehicle, the previous owner (private) had installed a GT bumper. In case you're not familiar with it, it has the semi circles cut out where the dual exhaust goes. Not to digress, I want to install a hood scoop. I found one at mrhoodscoop.com. I have been doing some research and I noted that the template that this kit comes with wouldn't work properly because their are no holes to start from. Now I'm not doing the installation myself, but is there anything I should take into consideration when getting this done?

not really... it's retarded easy.

NOTE: It'll obscure your view of the passenger side front of the car during sharp right hand turns.

My OPINION: I think it's the worst idea Evar. Many GT's came without the scoop so having one doesn't necessarily make or break the look. Many V6 cars also came with the scoop so there's less differentiation there than you probably imagine. There's no reason to add wind resistance for a part that's considered generally kinda ugly, is totally non-functional, obscures visibility and requires holes drilled in your perfectly functional hood. They also scratch the shit out of the paint under the points where they make contact with the hood. I used Dynamat as a mounting gasket to keep it from rubbing my paint off when the wind buffeting starts it a'wigglin.

EDIT: the kit you linked looks ok but I don't think it's a bright idea still.

I just want that aggressive look that the '01- GT's had. My mom had a '01 Mustang GT (black) and it looked so nice from the front.

I'm sure that the body shop will not do a cob-job installing my hood scoop. If I'm correct, I believe it is fastened down by 6 bolts, three on each side, and 3m factory grade tape or something like this. I'm going to get it done soon, most likely when I get my taxes back.

I remember driving my moms' GT when I was shorter, and the hood scoop was always in the way of things close to the front end of the car. It's a risk I am willing to take.
