Mothers Wash and Wax kit
 

I am ordering the Mothers car wash and wax kit from Americanmuscle.com(http://www.americanmuscle.com/car-wash-wax-kit.html) and am a little bit confused. What towel and spongs is used for what? i knwo the small pad is for the wax and the drying towel is for drying (duh) but what about the big sponge and the polishing cloth?

also can you wash the pad you use to put the wax on the car? Or is it better to jsut use it until it gets too dirty? Thanks in advance

wouldnt your local walmart also carry this same product?

They might but i found it on Americanmuscle as i was looking around and it is free shipping so i figured why not? Plus i dont have to spend money on going to walmart if they dont have it.

Microfiber Applicator Pad- Applying polish, wax, sealant, synthetic wax, glazes, cleaner waxes.
Microfiber Polishing Cloth- Can be used for removing polish, wax, sealant, synthetic wax, QD's, glazes, cleaner waxes, etc.
Microfiber Sponge- Not necessary.

BTW, that kit is a waste of money.

Why do you say it is a waste of money? It's too late now as i ordered it but i was jsut wondering.

The cleaner wax isnt going to do much of anything in terms of protecting the paint. It might clean it a bit, but thats about it.

The microfiber pad is alright, some people like them some dont.

The microfiber cloths could be hit or miss. All microfiber is NOT created equally. And chances are it is not going to be high quality microfiber. What does that mean? Well it might scratch the paint, it might not absorb any water, they might not last long, etc.

This isnt a detailing board, and you probably arent looking to spend hundreds on quality products, so I want bash it too much. I guess its like comparing Mac LT's with Bassani, or Kooks.

Understandable and you are correct i am not looking for a super high quality product, just a nice shine. What brands/products would you suggest that are not insanely expensive? Until now i have been using some old turtlewax in the garage that in only in spanish.

Poorboys, although cheap, their products are definitely not bad by any standard. If you tell me how you want the car to look, maybe take some pictures in direct sunlight, then I can recommend some things for you.

I am also starting to wash and wax cars for my friends once in a while jsut as a side job so poorboys would work for a good all purpose wax?

Ok, so i have been trying to get a picture of the stang in the sun but whenever i get a chance it is cloudy :verypissed:

I did wax it for fathers day and i noticed there were a few patched that were very rough, i scrubbed them and waxed them and nothing. It is parked by a power plant all day, any chance there is somehting that has gotten on it and is eating through the clearcoat? Or should they (the rough patches) go away after i use the clay bar?

It might or might not go away after the clay bar. Really depends on what it is.
