ps thats a dollar hangin outa the bumper....didnt have a quarter that was thick enough......lol at canada:P

Wombozi17 04-05-2008 11:32 AM

Im no expert, but it looks like the bumper is structurally sound. It might be slightly bent out of shape.
Maybe some of the fastening bolts need to be tightened/replaced. :2cents:

Dream 04-05-2008 11:37 AM

where should i look.....i know JACK SHIT about bumpers and stuff. anything visual i dun know what the hell im doin with it.

mustangrn 04-05-2008 11:49 AM

Dream 04-05-2008 11:52 AM

well... hes the smart one and im the big mean dumbass...so i gotta protect him and all and yea were close. hes just about to get his g2(in canada its g1-u can drive in only 80kmph or less and MUST have a driver who has been licenced for 4 years with you, g2- you can drive on ur own anywhere but no booze, and g-u get 0.08 blood alcohol) so hes gettin ready to go all alone and wants to learn stick. lets put this out there, hell no hes not gettin my car, just teachin him out to drive a manual....god he sucks.

Thats a pretty cool liscenesing (sp?) system. The damage doesn't look bad. I think there are two screws that hold the corners of the bumper on, not too sure on that. But as long as the holes for the fasteners are not busted you should be able to realign and re-tighten everything. You may have to drill new holes if the original ones are busted out/striped.

Dave04Mustang 04-05-2008 01:06 PM

theres no full shots of the bumper so its pretty tough to see how noticeable it is. Looks like he hit it head on which is why the bumper popped out on the sides. Your tires look like there is about 0-1% tread life left on them. Thats always a contributing factor with loss of traction

Dream 04-06-2008 12:58 AM

lol yea the front tires got metal showin. the back are stil ok though.

ill get you some more all around pics tomorrow and if i can figure out how to post a video clip ill show u my slight delima.

you'll need to pull the bumper cover and bang on the side bracket to flatten it back out like the other side. It's an easy hammer fix. If it's too banged up, call up Randy and get a new bracket. They're installed with pop rivets so they're easy to replace with a 10 dollar rivet gun.

Crimsonred02 04-06-2008 08:53 AM

Needless to say punch him in the face

or you can use bolts.

I got my new bumper in yesterday and it did not come with the brackets, i was pretty annoyed to see they were riveted on, had to slice them off the old bumper annd cut the riverts out, then bolt it onto the new bumper.

yeah red is probably right, there are 3 tabs right in that area that rivet onto some metal brackets, and the brackets screw onto the mustang. use a 7/16th ratched to get em off, just lift the front a little and pull up the splash guard a little and you will see them.

also, check beneath, on either side o the airdam are some plastic tabs that hold the bottom of the bumper underneath the car, he very well may have bustedd those out, by the way it is sagging i wouldnt be suprised. tell his dumbass to go get you some more. they are only a few bucks

Man if you lived in the South, this would not even be a problem. DUCT TAPE aka Carolina Chrome, 200mph tape...... even comes in different colors. God help us all if they ever come out with Carbon Fiber :t:

Dream 04-06-2008 03:53 PM

btw i think they got that

I'll bet that a couple of the tabs are broken off. in any case you're going to have to pull the cover off to check the damage. If any tabs are broken you're kinda screwed, new cover time.

nyheyman 04-06-2008 08:29 PM

I agree!!!!!!!!!! duct tape is the greatest invention on the plannet!

Look on the brightside....time for a new cover! You do need to get that thing off, though, before you will know for sure.

Expect to pay about $500 to $700 for a new painted cover if I am not mistaken. Otherwise, people get rid of stockers all the time, especially on a sixer, and I bet you could find one for under $200, if not $100.

Here is a place that sells new ones for $129 un-painted, though I don't know about freight.

MRW03stang 04-07-2008 02:48 PM

I had to pay around $900 for a cracked bumper. But yours looks fixable just do some investigating and see what you can do. Its not really that noticable anyway.

Fawk no.

I bought a new aftermarket 99-04 mystang GT bumper, painted, cleared, and delivered for around 260.

The quality is great, i only did this because im selling the car and i needed a replacement bumper. Paint quality was pretty good, not 10/10, but all in all a solid deal for the price. Fitment was great, no orange peel no runs, well packaged and delivered in a timely manor.

I wouldnt reccommend this for a show car, but hell man, you cant beat this deal. The paint quality is almost (95%) as good as stock.
