Dealer Sticker
I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on getting a dealer sticker off my car? I hate those things. I just don't want to ruin the paint or scratch the finish.

x2! bump for help lol
|
i just used isopropyl alcohol and a razor.... and a washrag............
just be gentle.... lol im sure the other guys have other methods.... probably goo-gone works as well |
yea, i had a thin little decal from where i got my car. i just peeled it off and used goo-gone to get rid of the left over adhesive gunk.
If it is one of those big bulky dealer emblems they glued on, those come off easy as well. Just heat up the sticker with a heat gun or hair dryer, and the adhesive should be weaker and the sticker/emblem should come off real nice. Goo-gone gets rid of the leftover adhesive. Then i polish and wax the area where it was. Just take your time and be gentle, dont wanna make any scratched :) |

You can do it a few ways. I have always just used a razor blade and you run it almost completely on its side on the paint and gently push under the stickers till you can lift them off. When im done i use Goo Gone to get rid of the extra glue thats left behind.

lighter fluid (Ronsonol or Zippo brands) will fix you up right quick and are safe for your paint. DO NOT LET THEM SIT ON YOUR PAINT IN THE SUN.
Both substances are made from Naphtha and dissolve most adhesives on contact. Super glue is not affected by them. Crazy glue brand makes a super glue remover for that crap. |
If it is a small graphic or emblem, it's best to put a hair drier to it. They most easily and safely come off under heat; they just peel off. If you do it right, you won't even have any goo. I do it to all of my cars.

zip, is your stang dark green?
(dont know color code...) |
I took mine off with my fingernail and cleaned the area with zippo fluid.

Hair dryer is the easier/safer way to do it, heat it up and it'll come right off, remaining glue is easy to come off.

For the love of God, use Microfiber towels and do not dig into the paint with your fingernail trying to get the adhesive off. Be patient and let the goo gone do its work. Not the Mustang, but still: Before: Attachment 23060 After: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a13...entra/Rear.jpg |
