Sequential Tail Lights 99-04

Cool or Rice?

Steeda97 12-04-2007 08:51 AM

We have another zig on here? Oh god.

But, I think they are cool, but just something i'd never pay for to have.

r3dn3ck 12-04-2007 09:18 AM

I like em... on MERCURY COUGARS where they belong.

3.8for the win 12-04-2007 09:20 AM

i dont like them.

Mixedbreed02GT 12-04-2007 12:43 PM

they're different. i think they're ok. not ricer, but not top priority mod either.

Wombozi17 12-04-2007 04:05 PM

I think they are pretty cool. You dont see them very often, they are pretty unique. I got the kit as a gift last year. It is a high price tag for a small change. It definitely draws some attention to the car. Literally FIVE minutes after i hit the road after the install, i had another mustang driver ask me where i got them. I have the "chase" feature on my 2001.

They came on the Cougars and Shelbys in the 60s far from being rice. Plus I have it and its cool :smokin:https://mustangboards.com/mustang/pi....php/photo/287

Im sittin on the fence on those things.

i think if the transition from on to off was a bit faster.
they seem to just flow a bit much. maybe if they would chase on real quick, hold on, then chase off real quick.

spike_africa 12-04-2007 07:11 PM

I like them, but never will do it because its just to much money for it.

Dave04Mustang 12-04-2007 09:30 PM

I think they look pretty good

ZiggityZachh 12-05-2007 08:26 AM

yeah i like em too
but im still trying to decide if i want them for that price...
maybe someone will pickup up for me this christmas.:D

r3dn3ck 12-05-2007 08:36 AM

That's it... I'm so definitely coming out with a solder-it-your-damn-self sequential kit. It's just too damned easy to include all the components in a box and let you guys solder it yourself for like 1/10th the cost.

What does everyone think of that? Would you buy a kit if you had to solder it yourself but there's at least great instructions?

ZiggityZachh 12-05-2007 08:43 AM

nah, i aint got skills lol
ill just keep it on my xmas list :)

as a matter of fact, that is EXACTLY how that kit works on 99-04 stangs. When i installed mine, it required a replacement (included) flasher for under the dash. The rate of speed as far as on and off for the blinker is half. With the blinker race reduced, there is more room for adjustment. I made mine work just like you said: it chases on quickly, remains on for a moment, and chases out. I like how the "chase" pattern is distinguished on my car.

On the other hand, i help a friend install the module on his 2007 stang. Install was nearly identical, but his car used the factory flasher. The rate of the flasher remained as fast as factory... and gave the result of what you saw on the youtube video.

I can see what i can do as far as getting a video of my car's lights. I am at school, so it might be a while.

They actually do have a sequential taillight kit that's splice in, somewhere.

spike_africa 12-05-2007 02:03 PM

Yeah the plug in kits cost a ton, even the solder it yourself kits are a rip off. Hence why i will never do it. I do think it looks cool though.

Venom, maybe im just crazy, but it seems that the right side is slower (just barely) than the left?...

venom 12-05-2007 08:24 PM

Actually at that time my battery was low since my car had been sitting for a long time. Ill update the vid when I get the car back.

El Diablo 12-24-2007 03:31 PM

I got mine here for $79 http://www.webelectricproducts.com/

Buzzch46 12-25-2007 08:00 AM

I like them! Kind of retro (back to the 60's). I wish my 94 GT Vert had vertical lights instead of horizontals. Don't think the sequentials would look good go up or down.

venom 12-25-2007 03:20 PM

You would have to get newer taillights and harness which there is a kit.
