I went with limo tint in the back and the two quarter panels. as for the other windows i forgot, but i went the darkest without being illegal.

Dave04Mustang 11-10-2007 04:58 PM

it looks like you went 35% up front because it looks a lot like mine. If I did it again I would go a min of 15% all the way around (I have 15% in the back and 35% in the front)

EDIT: When you say you want to keep it "legal" we need to know what state your in. Every state is different for example in Illinois you can't have any tint in the front

3.8for the win 11-10-2007 06:09 PM

o sorry about that, heres the laws for pa does that meen i cant have any thing under 70% or over 70%?

STATE FRONT
SIDES REAR
SIDES BACK
WINDOW VISOR NET/FILM
PA 70% 70% 70% NO NET

Dave04Mustang 11-10-2007 06:35 PM

yea it means you can't go under 70 which means don't even pay for that because thats what they basically put on cars out of the factory. Just go 35% in the front and you will be fine just don't drive like a moron haha :D

3.8for the win 11-10-2007 06:49 PM

ok 35% in the front and what do you think i should put in that back?

well from your post it looks like they don't want tint anywhere so i would just stay 35% all around it wont be real dark but it will look good

3.8for the win 11-10-2007 07:21 PM

ok i think ill do that then thanks for the help.

Dave04Mustang 11-10-2007 07:27 PM

yea no problem your whole car would look like the windows in the front look like on MustSee's pictures. You should be ok its pretty rare that states don't even want tint in the back either so you might get nailed but 35% is still light enough so you can see who is in the car and how many people which is what they mostly care about

Mixedbreed02GT 11-10-2007 08:15 PM

i got 5% all the way around. TN law states no more than 35% all the way around, but i say TINT LAWS FTL!!!

any crimes committed against officers while stopping a vehicle with tinted windows are rare and isolated at best anyhow. it's just another BS law to control us.

PColav6 11-10-2007 08:32 PM

70% is as low as you can go? ha ha ha what the hell.

Your car is dark so you're gonna want to go with low % to make it look good, 20% wouldn't look bad.
You should get rid of those chromed-housed headlights and get some smoked ones, it'd make it look much nicer.

traffic stops are one of the most dangerous calls an officer/deputy can go on. the next would be domestic disturbances. just if ya do go w/the super dark tint, do the guy a favor and roll down all ur windows when ya know ur getting pulled over. in most cases he/she is going to appreciate that. oh yea, do it as soon as they kick the lights on, not when they're right by the car walking up.

03_GT 11-11-2007 08:28 AM

2% FTW. Its dark but looks gooood!

3.8for the win 11-11-2007 09:26 AM

2% does look good but i don't want it that dark im thinking 35% or 20%.

htownv6 11-11-2007 12:17 PM

i live in pa and have 35 front and 15 back and have been pulled over before and tint was no issue ... i think as long as ur not 5% all around they wont mind ... if u do get pulled over tho make sure both of ur windows are down

Hey how is it driving at night with limo tint? and thats 0% right?

03_GT 11-11-2007 12:46 PM

i think the limo tint in 2%, cause when i had 30% tint on the windsheild you could not see a damn thing inside my car, even in full sun light!

limo tint isnt bad, my mom doesnt like driving it becasue she claims its hard to see. But i can see perfectly fine. No issues with it. I guess it takes some getting used to.

Cheddarbob 11-11-2007 01:34 PM

cool im getting it

Dave04Mustang 11-11-2007 02:23 PM

I have 5% in the back and have no problems during regular driving but sometimes when i back up at night have trouble seeing out and have to use the side-view. The positives definitely out weight the negatives though since it also means you aren't always being blinded by lifted trucks with all those stupid extra lights.

yeah i just went to a shop for a quote he said limo is 5% so im doing that on the back but i dont know what i want on the front. Im thinking 20% in front. he said that if you have 5% in the back and 20% in the front the 20% looks darker than it is bc of the 5%

Codiddy 11-11-2007 03:55 PM

mine isn't limo. limo is like 2% I think. A friend had limo and it was too dark for me. You might want to consider leaving the front windows un-tinted so you have one less thing cops can pull you over for, but it's your gamble to make. I made it like 8 months before I had to take my front tint off.

well i think im gona do it anyway.

Stangchick 11-14-2007 02:53 PM

def. need to tint it, but i would keep it even all over

redfire04 11-19-2007 06:38 PM

I vote doing 20% all around. I had 5% on the rear of my last car and imo it was too dark at night trying to back up. Not that big of deal but when I got my gt tinted I got 20% in the rear and 35% up front. I would have done 20% all around but MO laws don't allow below 35% up front. Why give the cops another reason to pull you over if it's not legal?
