Cervini Concept Hood

Really thinking about getting the Cervini concept hood for my 07. My boyfriend is trying to convince me just to by a hood scoop and call it a day. I don't see the point (for me) to buy something non-functional. Looking for feedback. Anyone out there replaced the stock hood? About how much did you pay for the paint and installation?

Cervini has the best quality. The painter will have less prep work and save you money but price can range from 400 to 1000. If you want to save on paint you can always get a carbon fiber hood and leave it unpainted.

what hood are you looking at? Cervini has a good 4 page layout in just about every mustang magazine

Cervini Concept Hood

I think it is an excellent choice. My husband just bought me this hood for my birthday. Cervini's shipped it today so when I get it on I will post a picture for you.

that is a badass hood!

venom 10-21-2007 05:25 PM

Looks 100x better than the stock wimpy hood. I would put some mesh in the openings to black it out a bit.

mpt_1962 10-22-2007 08:10 AM

black mesh would add some flavor, but its a good looking hood as it is, dont over do it.

mustangdave248317 10-28-2007 04:01 AM

Dayum......I'd give my left.......elbow....lol.....for that hood on my 2000 coupe:D Sweet!

mpt_1962 10-28-2007 11:35 AM

is that fiberglass, urethane..or what?

zigzagg321 10-28-2007 01:24 PM

noice.

I had an "incident" and I'm looking at this exact hood. I'm a little concerned about how much of the engine bay can be seen through the scoop. Is it that obvious or is the camera flash lighting it up inside?

mpt_1962 10-31-2007 07:30 AM

how the heck did that happen?

Dodobird223 10-31-2007 08:42 AM

it looks like he did it on purpose, just to get a new hood XD

maybe? i don't know. Looks like there's no damage, he just parked at the tree, lol

Gone2 10-31-2007 12:30 PM

My driveway is very steep, and I didn't set the ebrake good enough. I assure everyone it wasn't on purpose and I'm coming out on the short end of the stick with the insurance company.

The tree did keep the car from rolling into the house though.

Cervinis Hood

Go with the concept hood, i agree with you why put a nonfunctional bolt on scoop on when you can have one that works. That was one of my biggest complaints with my 01 GT and is one reason why i like my 07 GT. I know shelby is doing it on the the Shelby Gt and Roush is doing it on their never ending lineup of "special editions" but it doesnt make it right. the concept hood is going to make an appearance on my 07 as soon as i cross off some other items on my list. The hood is not my biggest gripe about the 07, i would say appearnce wise it would be #1= stock spolier:( #2 the cheap black plasic grilles that Ford insists on using

Gone2 01-07-2008 10:58 AM

All done. I hot glued some screen to the scoops inside to hide the engine components.

I be more worried about if someone can reach there hands down into there to grab any wires, anyway you can mount some meece's traps ;)

cpthowdy 01-12-2008 05:44 AM

now are you just going for looks because that hood wont do anything in performance, although its "functional"..its just for looks.try looking at carbon fiber hoods, that way you can help those overwieght mustangs, 05-present lose a couple of pounds!!

Gone2 01-12-2008 07:04 AM

The hood is a bit heavier than the stock aluminum one but this one is letting the under hood temps stay lower. Now I can bump my timing up a bit without detonation and I'm not so worried about heatsoak.

holy old post lately!

08GTMan 08-23-2012 07:50 PM

yeah i know what the DATE of these threads are, now hear it is 2012, any water issues with these hoods ? Yes they look DAM good, but its not all about looks, you have to think ahead, Like what if i get caught going down the highway and it rains Like the frigging bottom has fallen out, where does that water go ? or do you have to find the nearest Bridge or Tree to park under. jmo, but i think the heat xtraction hood serves a better purpose, i think if you were to turn a 'Functional' hood scoop 'around' and let the heat come out the back would be much better, All Around. jmo

That hood looks just great...the upper one has made the mustang act like a beast..i really loved the pics thanks for sharing such a nice post.
