just have an audio shop measure your trunk dimensions and they can make something for you. or if you're pretty handy, you can do it yourself. the important part is making sure the internal cubic feet of the enclosure matches what your sub requires

And as a mechanic you don't work with wood, so you have no idea what it takes to actually build one.

shhh you're going to make him think he can do it. ;x

Oh and BTW with a rear seat delete..you still might wanna build the box behind it.. can plexi the back so when you pop your trunk you still see it..its not just carpeted wood ect..and it looks great in mustangs. Now if you have a few midgets you wanna tote around..then a backseat delete may not be for you.

And before you go on being a dick, it was just a simple idea, you never said "A BOX TO FIT MY TRUNK" you just said ideas.

And I don't care if you're a mechanic or not dude, sometimes 12s just won't fit. You also have to build a box to the right dimensions so it sounds good still, doesn't overheat, bla bla bla, and you still want it to look clean.

Go look in the "FOR SELL" section and look what he got done. Personally, I wouldn't go that way..i like my thump being closer to my seats..not next to my license plate..but to each his own I guess.

I had a JL 12w7 in mine for a while just get about any box on ebay but make sure you get the box with the smalled height you can find, preferably 13". I had to take out the spare tire and angle the box around to get it under the trunk lip but after that i scooted it over slid the tire back in. I didn't, but you also you may want to look into taking the amp rack out.

This is what I did with my two 10s but you could probably do something like that with 12s. Did all the fiberglass work myself, shops cost too much.

Do you have the mach audio system? Because that amp rack makes it a pretty tight fit for subs, my 10" sub box that I made fits but I have to push on it pretty hard to get it in.

Yeah I have some pictures. Some are in this how-to.

The amp rack is made out of MDF with fiberglass over it. There are spaces for the wires and cooling. I will try to post a couple of good ones of it w/o fiberglass if they are still on my computer.

01fr500.....how long did it take you to complete this project? What were the costs of the materials? Did you check to make sure the subs had the proper air space?

The materials were around $150, I didn't keep up with the cost much as I went along but I know I didn't spend a fortune. And that is a lot less than the $500+ that the local audio shop quoted me at, most of that probably labor.

I worked on it on and off for several months, but when I actually worked on it, I could get a lot done. Other then the mold for the right side, I finished the fiberglass work on it in one day. If you have the time, materials, and can dedicate yourself to it, It may only take a week or two from beginning to end.

As for the air space for the subs, I didn't check, just estimated. My subs called for 1.25 cubic feet of un-ported space, which isn't much. I had already built a regular rectangular enclosure and had a good idea of how much space I needed. I could have filled it with water or cotton balls and then measured but I didn't really care. The actual only reason I got the subs and built the fiberglass enclosures in the first place were for shows. I've grown to like the bass notes though.
