Any pointers or advice? Does it look decent? This is my first time with no help.

How did you go about doing it? What were your steps?

Going with this recommended process:
3 inch die grinder 36 grit to take off the edges (seams) the brown pad(gasket remover type) 3 inch rolocs for smoothing the rough casting.. then take a DA a work your way from 80 grit to 320 dry and then hand sand 400-2000 wet. In between each sanding stage use a "Guide-Coat" flat black spray paint (not gloss) misted over the entire thing lightly (it will show up your scratches on the previous grit. Then when its wet sanded in 200 you can use mothers aluminum polish or Simi-chrome (by power tool and wool pad works best) then wipe clean.. I skipped a few steps but i like the results so far. |
