If your lookin for a good amp...then your gonna pay a pretty penny for one! Usually you pay like $1.00 per watt on a good amp....so if you wanted a 1000watt JL amp....your lookin at $900-$1000, But they will push the power and wont over heat Like Sony and other fairly cheap Best Buy amps will. To Power your componets...Any 4ch amp will be fine, usually like 400watt amp will suit them good. I've got a MTX thunder 801d mono amp powering two high powered Audiobahn 12's in a friends car pounding them!! That amp is about 6 years old and i didnt pay all that much for it and it's working great for being soo old and put to the test many of times!

I dunno, I'm really not willing to pay 1.00 per watt, mainly because overheating ect doesn't mean too much to me. Its just a system for when I'm driving around maybe to crank up and show off a little.. I'm really not planning to invest anymore then 1100 dollars total into the system.
MTX is a great brand imo, their subs hold up well, as well as their amplifiers. Anyways, do you k now anything about Power Acoustic? Are they any good? |

I've heard Power Acoustic is pretty good, never delt with anything of that brand before myself tho. I'de say checkout local pawn shops!! They usually have some good stuff like Audiobahn/MTX and others for a heck of a deal! I stopped Friday by one just checkin out stuff and gettin a new heater for my garage and saw some good stereo stuff really really cheap and all of it was practically brand new!
But yea, i'de go with something around 300watts rms for that one 12. I got 250watts powering my little 10w6 in my truck right now and it's more than enough bump when i want to turn it up.

dood I got a great amp for my sub. Its a Boston Acoustics 500watt 2 channel amp. I just bridged it down for the one sub. Its a/b class and they are cheap! Heres an ebay link to one of them http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSTON-ACOUSTICS...QQcmdZViewItem I have the GT-22, and it was only $250 at HiFi Buys.

Ebay is a good place to get electroics cheap, but you always run the risk of it not working when you get it or something else is wrong with it and thats why you get it soo cheap. At least Pawn shops you can test it prior to buying and dont rely on a picture and a claimed discription of the item. I Myself prefer to buy electrical items like stereo stuff New right off the shelf.
