Problems with my factory paint (oxford white)

My car is an 04 with 15,000 miles on it, its always kept in the garage never sees bad weather, I dont even drive it in the rain. The problem is my paint on the side scoops and the paint on the side runners is starting to get to be a brownish white in other words it dosent match. I bought the car brand new, I think this sucks, what kinda quality is that. Also the car is still under warrenty.........Do you think this would be coverd??

spike_africa 11-26-2006 07:06 AM

take a pic of it, i wanna see.

PureStang 11-26-2006 07:25 AM

its because the side runners and the side scoops are painted somewhere else and they never had the right mixture to get the color of the actual car. if u look your bumpers should be a creamier color of white compared to the rest of the car

Ford has a separate paint warranty. Check your paper work and see if it was included in your purchase agreement.

Same thing happens to my car when light shines on it a certain way.

Warranty should cover it
It's not your fault color changed

I've noticed this on multiple Oxford White mustangs with the side scoops and side skirts. Not much you can do about it if it's not covered by warranty, unless you want to pay for re-paint.

MattJ 11-26-2006 05:18 PM

fords paint warrenty is 5 year 50,000m but youll have to read the terms.

I don't see why they wouldn't. He has 3/36 warranty on it.

Are you sure about that? I thought it was because those parts aren't made of metal like the rest of the car.

thats another factor but there is another stange around here exactly like mine (03 oxford white gt) and he had his repainted oxford white (due to being keyed from fender to fender) and the whole body was the same color... nothing was an offset white

White04GT 11-27-2006 05:57 PM

I have an 04 Oxford White GT and the same shit has happend to mine..thank god I'm not the only 1..I thought it was becuase my car sits out in the sun.

PureStang 11-27-2006 06:07 PM

I asked my manager that orders our body shop parts, he said if the paint is going bad on it's own, ford has to repair it:shock2:
