2000 Mach 460 and ford headunit...

Okay, I have the Mach 460 system in my car but I don't have the Mach headunit, it's just the regular ford one (I'm guessins bose??). My question is, can the speakers and subs really take it with the volume all of the way up? When it's only half way on the headunit with treble at half and bass at 3/4, the car bumps quite fericously (Don't come in here saying "Boy, you don't know what bumpin is, I installed 13232$ of blahblahblah and blah blah", the bass on the system is very clean, and bumpy :) ), nothing rattles but I'm afraid something will come loose if I ever turn the volume up any higher than half...

anyone got an answer for this/ :help:

Depends on what yer listening to.
I was listening to KMFDM which is pretty heavy and full of bass on the way home last night, chilling around 80% volume, sounded clean crisp, loud, and gave a helluva kidney massage... i got the mach1000

the amount you can turn it up really depends on the recording and weather or not the compressed the **** out of the dynamic range.

just go with yer gut feeling and the sound. if you hear the amps clipping and speakers bottoming out and bloating then turn it down.

Well...hard rock mostly, has alot of bass in it, it's not heavy but it's constant.

Couldn't hear any problems with the midrange, just saw all of the mirrors vibrating :shock2:

I cannot see well at all out of any of my mirrors if I crank it up...I dont think its gonna hurt anything really. No real rattles to speak of yet.

Well, My if my car is still handling everything that I've got in it then I don't think you'll have any problems to speak of..... :poke:

I've had my rear view fall of the windsheld several times, but other than that nothing has rattled loose or made any funky noises or anything..

Im pushin about 1400w to all of the speakers: Infinity Kappa 5/7's and one Infinity Kappa 12.1dVQ Sub.

The only thing that I can see being a problem with yours is underpowering the speakers, but as long as the h/u wasn't replaced with something cheaper that has less power output then you should be fine. Underpowering is almost always worse than overpowering.

I got a mach 460 system and anything over 3/4 full volume sounds like crap. It thumps pretty good about half volume though. But I'd rather hear my flowmasters rocking the airwaves anyway.. :cop:
