different waxes

I have used allot of different waxes before and non of them have made any differnce to me.

The only difference I noticed between paste wax, liquid wax, and spray wax is how easy they go on and take off. I have never noticed a different shine effect between the 3 nor have I notced a different shine effect between all the companies out there claiming theres is the best.

I've have used meguires 3 step system, there tech was which is supposed to be awesome, black magic liquid wax, zymol,p21 and all the turtle wax waxes and have never noticed the slighest bit of extra shine or softness to your paint.

Any one else feel the same way.

Now i just stick with turtle wax products cause i get good discounts on there products

I've tried several waxes myself, and to the same results. None of them really outshone the others. Now I just use Meguires gold class paste b/c I like the way it smells while I'm putting it on:kekekegay:

I use FinishKare's Pink wax now which is a carnuba wax. I also use their 425 QD spray to make it shine after I was the car between waxes.

With all these over the counter waxes out there. How can we get the truly best wax out there, where can we find it and buy it from.

You wont find anything special over the counter. I buy all of my stuff from autogeek.net. They have great prices and great service. Look into Natty's Blue, DP Max Wax, Pinnacle Series II, Pinnacle Liquid Souveran, or Souveran Paste ($$$). All of those are Carnauba Paste waxes except for Liquid Souveran which is obviously a liquid Carnauba, but a very good one. Dont put a sealant over anything with Carnauba in it. Put the Carnauba ontop of the sealant. Also, a Carnauba will generally shine better then a sealant.

Some good sealants are Klasse, Poorboy's EX-P, and DP.

Whats the difference between a sealant and Carnauba?
A sealant is pretty much artificial while Carnaub is natural.
A sealant will last longer then a Carnauba. Depending on the company, a sealant will last for about 4-6 months or even a year. A Carnauba generally lasts about 1-2 months.
A sealant wont give as good of a shine as Carnauba.

autogeek.net is a good site, but also check out properautocare.com, autopia-carcare.com, exceldetail.com for other places to buy good products. I suggest you check out autopia.org and do some research on there. Those guys are detailing junkies and will give you some great advice.

Waxes today are all pretty good and yes, sometimes ease of use is worth a lot. Whne a product is easy to apply, you tend to use it more too.

Basically, you have three options:

Carnuba Wax: Has perhaps the best, deepest shine but does not last as long. Moderate to apply.

Polymer: Not quite as good as a shine as carnuba, but lasts longer. Easy to apply

Acrylic: Makes for an extremely hard finnish. Some think maks the best shine. Lasts long, but can be hard to apply.

Most products mix polymers with waxes to get the best of both worlds.

What makes a good wax great, I believe is prep. If you do the prep right, you can have a great shine no matter what you use.

My favorites are:

Eagle One Wax as You Dry: Very easy to use!!!! Nice product.

Ecolab/Nascar (blue bottle): Straight carnuba spray wax/dry product. Goes on easy, but you need to buff a second time. This is sold at Target.

Sonus Detail Spray: My absolute favorite. This si an acrylic spray. It gets better each time you use it.

I agree with Blake. Prep is very important when it comes to that last top coat and the overall shine of the car. However, not all waxes, polishes, and sealers are created the same. You will get better shines depending on the product.

On a side note.
Canuba= Carnauba
Polymer= Synthetic
Acrylic= Sealers (also synthetic and can be polymer too)
