I have a Sirius home unit and I love it + Sirius is going to have Howard Stern next year. XM is good too my dad has is in his truck. XM has a little more stations, but Sirius is growing. If your mustang is Sirius ready I say go with it, it is better than FM.

I am also lost, my mustang has the satalite option but not the module. Does any one know what extra parts I would need to get the satalite radio to work as well as a price. Also if the car is XM or Sirius ready? Thanks

I work at a Acura dlr and our cars have Xm. My wife has a 04 Eddie Bauer Expedition and it has the Sat button already on the radio. I was told at the Ford dlr it would cost aprox 300 something and I would have to use sirrus. The sirrus is 5 dollars more per month than Xm and it doesnt have the channels that I have gotten used to on Xm. I called Xm and they said it wouldnt work on my Ford radio as of yet but possibly in the future, there is talk or a rumor of the 2 merging together in the near future? I have seen adapters that xm can be used in a cassette tape deck but neither of my fords have cassette players

(sirius) 12.95 - (XM) 9.95 = 3
I want Sirius because they have the NFL deal, where all the games are on it. Plus they are 100% commercial free. XM has very few commercial channels but it has some. I travel alot and listen to ESPN radio more than anything and need to get a satellite radio badly. Does anyone know of a system I can use in more than one car. I rent cars often so it would have to be something that isnt isntalled. Like something that has a built in antenna and just plugs into the cig lighter.

Dont want an IPOD, dont want it for the music. I want sat radio for the sports and talk radio. You can find radio stations everywhere that have music but it can be a bitch to find a good AM radio station.

Sat Radio is simply the best. I have been an XM customer for three years this spring. I rarely listen to the regular radio. I have it in my office and in all three of my cars. Right now, I just have one account and I move my receiver from car to car and office as needed.
My biggest gripe with dealer installed sat radios, is that you can not move them. My friend just bought a new Lexus. It came with sat radio, but he had his removeable Sirrus installed to avoid having to have multiple accounts. XM vs Sirrus....I think they are very much the same. Sure, some have programs that the other does not. I don't listen at all to NFL, but I do to college FB and XM has many of the games. That is clearly an area where Sirrus wins (NFL). My channels on XM are 44, 54, 8, and 121. 99% of the time, I am on one of them.

They sure do, JVC makes a kit that has a house dock, and a car dock. The unit suction cups to the windshield, plugs into a cig. lighter, and has the fm modulator built right in. I hide the antenna wire, but put the antenna on the inside of the car just sitting in the middle of the rear speakers. I travel frequently, and rent cars while on business trips, I take this with me and enjoy sirius wherever I go. |
