Mach 460 6 CD Changer

I have a pretty simple question about the Mach 460 system. In regards to the 6 CD changer found in 01+ is it possible to play 'burned' CD's. My father warned me not to use a burned CD or it will get stuck and mess the unit up, apparently this is what happened to my brothers car, and it had to be fixed. (He has a 01' GT vert with the 460 system, tons of mods, full exhaust (jba shorties and bassani X with bassani catback) 03 cobra bumper, and he just got home for spring break and showed me two new gauges... air/fuel and boost X_X' his supercharger is being shipped (Kenne Bell 1.7)
so yeah, can i use a burned CD in my mustang? i am a little to afraid to try and have no users manual to look in ='(

A thought i had is that it might have been a burned CD with a label applied to the top...
But my father says that the tiny little difference between the width of a CD-R and Manufacturer's CD is enough to throw it off...

There is NO difference. He might be talking about those doublesided CD's like the SACD discs sony puts out, they have High Res audio on one side that needs an SACD player to play. On the other side is CD format. iver heared of these getting stuck all the time.

Never had one problem on mine, burned CDs work great.

burned cds work fine for me however it will not play them if the songs are mp3 format

While I have gotten a burned CD stuck in my headunit before, I don't think it had anything to do with the fact that it was a CDR. You'll be fine, I do it all the time.

You can can use burned CD's.. Just dont use the "printer type" label that you can print out. The label is what causes the problem..

i have an 01 with mach 460 and ALL of my cds that went in there were burned. youll be alright. im sure it was just a coincidence for your brother...

you have to have an audio burnt cd...not the MP3 burnt cd's...the difference is mp3 is stored as data (sames as other files like a word document)....i dont have that problem saying i have an MP3 cd player....:loser:

thanks all! now i can listen to good tunes...
u know, the ones that ARENT drowned out by my spanking new exhaust (so new, i have yet to actually get in the car with them on yet, older brother ands father put them on while i was working!) Not: i am still at work for ten+ mins...
but they stopped by on my break, damn they sound good (Magnaflows!)
not as good as my bros... duh... ****ing bassani catted x and aft cat paired with the JBA shorties is the best sounding combo EVER... he removed the baffles from his aftcat system, im pretty sure its illegal now... Tone and Volume! you can hear him forever...
