Correct Format for Mustang Computer Codes by Year
It is important to correctly identify your Mustang’s computer code. There are literally hundreds of codes and it would be impossible and potentially hazardous to your motor to attempt to guess your code. Included are some examples of codes that you might find during these years to help you recognize your car's code. 87-93 Usually 2 Letters and 1 Number Example Formats: A3M, A9L, A9P 94-95 Usually 2 Letters and 2 Numbers Example Formats: H4M3, T4M0, U4P0 96-06+ Usually 3 letters and 1 Number Example Formats: XSH1, CDC3, MDE2 Where to Locate the Computer Code 87-04 The computer code on 87-04 vehicles should be on the passenger side door jam on a rectangular white sticker. Sometimes the sticker comes off, so you will need to look under the passenger side kick panel on the actual computer to get the computer code. 2005+ The computer code on the 2005+ is under the hood on the passenger side located on a silver rectangular box.
