Cold air intake

I just bought a cold air intake for my 96 mustang V6, It didn't come with installation instructions, I thought it would be realativly easy, but i was wrong, any help would be appreciated. It looks to me like they gave me more parts than i needed.

What kind did you buy? Does it turn down into the fenderwell? Let me know and I'll try to walk you through the installation. It should be straight forward.

Let me know.

I'm not sure what king it is all i know is i bought it from mustang tunning.com, it.s for a mustang 3.8 v6 1996, and from what it looks like it came with two tubes and on the end that looks like it should conect to the throttle bodie there is a flat peice with four holes but i don't know where that is supposed to connect to considering my throttle body don't have a place for the four screws to go.

those four holes should be where the MAF (mass air flow sensor) should go. basicaly should be Throttle body-->tube--->MAF-->adapter plate-->other tube---> filter. if you need more help, just ask

and the MAF is located in the air filter box of the stock air intake?

the mass airflow meter is like a piece of metal pipe with a sensor on it...its bolted to the air cleaner box. you have to unbolt it from the box, its something like an 8mm socket that will take it off, then where the box bolted to, thats where you are going to put that adapter plate. if you want i can take some pics of the components for you.

I finnaly got it installed thanks for everyone's help. The only thing I have to ask, is there seems to ba a small vacum sound when i hit around 2000 rpm's is that normal.

you will hear the intake a lot more than the stock air cleaner, but just in case, just double check the vaccuum lines that go into the intake tube.

I checked the vacum hoses and they seem to be secure, the thing that is weird is the sound only happens when I drive the car. When it's parked and i rev the engine no noise.

yeah you will hear the sound of air rushing into the engine, it a cool sound, don't worry about it, if your not getting a light on your check engine everything is fine...I forgot to replace my vacum hose and ran it for a couple hrs and didn't have any problems...
