How many of ya'll are running Nitrous? And how many of ya'll are running the Zex kit?

I run a 125shot from Compucar. I know a guy who ran zex while it was safe it didnt give the kinda power he wanted. Those kits are very over rated power wise there 100shot feels like my 75 jets. Like i said safe but not as powerfull.

Your just chicken to use it......if nitrous is cheating then turbos and superchargers are as well...Nitrous just does it chemically..

Ah I don't want to get into this debate again or hijack this guys thread, but I think even though turbos and S/C are somewhat the same concept as nitrous I think it's much different because you have that power all the time, not just when your bottle is full. Just my lame opinion that's all.

I have had a Venom-1000 for about 16 months. I am going with a s/c though. Is nitrous cheating? Hell no! If you have the cash, the smarts to use it, and the ingenious to install it correctly, nothing is cheating. It is simply a power adder with limitations as it does run out. But it is NOT cheating.

Cheating is when you say "go on th ethird beep" and you go on the second one. Cheating is when you say "I won't use my spray" but you do anyways. That is cheating in my book. If nitrous is cheating, then so is dropping your tire pressure or installing a converter or any other mod.

W00t! Agree 100% wit dat dude. There's no such thing as cheating with power adders. Either you have one or you don't. You use it or you don't. See.

Zex makes good kits but I like to build my own stuff. I'm also not a fan of newbs with wet kits. They always seem to blow up an intake or two before they figure out what it means to be a grown up with a nitrous system.

Before anyone buys a nitrous kit they should of read up alot on how it works when to use it etc.... i didnt buy my first kit till i have read a full book on nitrous (found at barnes and noble) and searched forums for info. ONly then had i learned enough to use it. Now i have a few years on the bottle and i can say i have never fried a motor on or nore have i had a freind do that either. Now trannys i cant talk about. My F150 had 3 of them.

Ive got NX. I wouldnt use anything but that or maybe the NOSzle kit. I think NX has the best EFI systems, but NOS makes good direct port kits. I also really like the Edelbrock kits. The quality is great. The parts all look like nice stuff. I just got the NX cause there the only ones that have a plate system right now.

As for Zex. I have much experience with their wet kits and.....:bash: . The parts are all made out of soft aluminum! Thats the main thing that screws up their whole system. The purple color gets annoying when your buddies have cool looking NX bottles. The aluminum is so soft you cam probably break the Nozzle in half with your hands! The fittings that are attatched to the nozzle kept breaking on me. I had to replace them twice! 75 bucks a pop for those funny looking nozzles.

The whole "Control Box" thing is gay... It was so hard to find a decent spot for it under the hood. Plus, if you look inside of it, you will see these tiny wal-mart looking solenoids they use.

The box DOESNT control fuel enrichment. It doesnt even monitor bottle pressure like they say it does. All their work is in that stupid nozzle. The nitrous is supposed to "Pull" more fuel as the bottle pressure rises and just not pull as much when the bottle pressure is low. The A/F ratios will be screwed up after a 100hp shot .... so get it tuned.

The fuel pressure will be the same no matter what the nitrous is "pulling" on so I dont know why they think its gonna lean off the mixture because of low bottle pressure???:shifty:

Stay away from Zex. Get NX or Edelbrock. Sorry this was so long

PS- most nitrous companys use the same noids form the same place ie. nx,nos,compucar,proflow etc.. they are all the same just a fyi. Alot of people swear by there kit. i only got mine cause i know the noids are the same and it was cheaper then most, plus i like how there bottles only come in polished condition.

They may be made at the same place and work just the same, but they dont flow as much. The bigger the solenoid.... the more nitrous its gonna be able to flow. I know the zex solenoids will probably work fine within the kits limits (75-125hp), but that 125 shot only puts barely 100 hp at the wheels. The NX solenoids look like better quality and you can put that "Ice Man" solenoid on it with the purge. The kit I have is rated from 50-300whp. 300 horses would be more than I would ever need and thats using the solenoids in the kit. The wiring inside the "Control Box" connecting the solenoids is very skimpy. like a really small guage wire. Its just the cheap little things like that. Thats why I dont like Zex.

i said most for a reason. Zex uses there own little girl noids. There is a reason i cant think of a single pro drag car that uses ZEX kits.

100 shot for 2 years and my car still runs like new. I dont think they make it that way just so you dont blow your sh!t up. Give NX more credit than that. I just think Zex sucks overall. I can say so because I had a Zex kit. And it sucked......

so you;ve had it for 2 yrs spryaing every week? - I really want nos but ill be honest im a wussie when it comes to my car- I want to be safe for dailying driving - keep in mind that I would hardly ever spray

if your scared dont use it then, your not ready for the extra responsibility.

Then dont use it.....I installed that damn thing and I was scared s***less to give my car a spray even with a tune and taking a few extra measures to make sure my car didnt blow up. But now you'll see me giving my car a spray just for fun knowing I did it right.
