V6 4.0 power adder help

I am looking at supercharging or turbocharging my 2006 mustang v6 and am wondering what my best option is?

vortech makes a pretty nice kit.

turbo's i'm sure are out there as well...

I was looking at a stroker kit from tom morana racing that includes a steel crank, forged I-beam connecting rods, forged pistons, performance piston rings, Clevite or SpeedPro rod and main bearings, fully balanced and it says it increases hp 30+ and torque 30+, but it's $2,500 or $3,750 if I decide to get a new block with it. So should I go with this or supercharge/turbocharge first?

Depends on how your smog is..

supersix motorsports i believe does strokers for the 4.0 as well...

Honestly it depends on how fast you want to go and what you are looking to do with the car...

A turbo or a supercharger on low boost with a good tune won't hurt the motor..if you up the boost then it'll tear it up.

You'll also make decent power with either one, more then what you would that stroker.

Fuel system upgrades will be needed for a turbo or supercharger, and possibly the stroker.

It'll need a fuel pump, and injectors.

For the Vortech kits.

Rear mounted turbo kits.

There is also TMA Turbo and On3, but I'm not sure if TMA is still doing turbo kits, and I've heard mixed reviews about On3.

You can also take a look at http://www.supersixmotorsports.com

They do stroker kits as well, and port/polish work, etc.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with a stroker, if anything, figure out what sort of forced induction you want, go with that, get a set of H BEAM rods and forged pistons and then a cam set up for whatever sort of power adder you've got..

I have a friend that's got a 06 with a vortech, forged bottom end and relatively lower boost pushing deep into the 11s right now.

The shit will cost money though.. it'll find the weakest part of your car...whether its the rear end, transmission, or the motor..

So..keep that in mind when you go about doing this sort of stuff.

I have been runing an Explorer Express X-Charger MP90 based supercharger on my 2006 4.0 for 108,000 miles with no issues at all. Engine has 138,000 miles on it and it is driven hard on open track days, autocross and on the street. Running 10PSI in the manifold after the intercooler.
