Default Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger....

Just wondering if anyone has seen one of these on a car and what are your opinions on this system...

They make good stuff. Those kits are complete and nice and make good power. I just think they are really ugly kits.

It doesn't look to bad to me. Its just crazy to me that you gain that much horsepower just by boting that on and using all the stock engine parts still. Or am I reading this wrong?

Well it replaces the intake manifold and adds boost to a motor with pretty darn good flow cylinder heads from the factory. So couple that with boost and an intercooler to kill off the extra heat and you get more power!

Edelbrock rates the kit at 6 pounds of boost. However the boost was found to increase slightly as rpm levels grew. The boost log from the dynamometer pulls revealed the following figures.

I'm thinking about getting stage 2(or 3) cnc heads, stage 2(or 3) blower grind cams with springs and phaser, forged pistons/crank/rods and running 10-15# on the e-force

I've read that those boost levels are underrated. One dude on another forum I'm on has an Edelbrock on his Mustang and he is running 10psi. When I come back from lunch, I'll see if I can find the link.

It's a really good kit using a twin screw blower. Think of it as a kenne bell with a better tq curve while not in boost.

Tillman Speed has really started running with this SC'er, they sell the competition kit and street kit AND have their own kit which includes complete GT500 dual fuel pumps and more (and that's just their stage 1 version, haven't found info for their stage 2 package yet) PLUS they sell different pulley sizes if you want to run more boost

Yes, but for $5700 I can buy a 68mm turbo kit and push over 550hp....

That's with everything included.

I would NEVER put a turbo on a Muscle car.
I would ONLY put a turbo on a Import car.

^ You're gonna be sad if the rumors about the new GT500 are true.

Fact is turbos have been put on things a lot faster and a lot more American than muscle cars. Propeller Fighter planes had turbos. Kick ***. I rest my case

Turbos are easier to tune for, easier to upgrade, generally offer better gas mileage and generally more power.

I already knew a turbo would beat a super charger. Never said anything was bad with turbo's. I'm just saying AT LEAST one of my Muscle cars will have a super charger. I might put a turbo in if I have another Muscle car, but I don't know. I should of edited what I said, but I've been WAY TO TIRED and stressed out lately.

and I don't really like the GT500's, there are only a few I do like/seen.

+1 to that. I don't care for most of the GT500s I've seen. Plus it's like saying hey I have a bunch of money, but don't want to do the work. Which I can understand, but I'd much rather buy a GT and turn it into something that will spank a GT500s ***.

And I understand what you're saying with the turbo/supercharger as well. I like the termi with the supercharger, but I think on the GT I'm just going to slap on a single-turbo kit and have at it.

Lol, you realize some mustangs have come turbocharged from the factory, right?

I don't understand why people keep associating turbochargers with import cars. They've come on muscle cars for just as long as they've come on imports. Not to mention that there are a bunch of imports that come supercharged from the factory. People who say that turbochargers don't belong on American cars and only belong on imports really don't know what they're talking about.

I agree with what you said for the most part, but it is just as easy to swap a s/c for a larger s/c as it is a turbo. Also I would say Ford has just as much experience with turbo's as they do superchargers...Now like you said take 2 exact cars put a turbo on one and a s/c on the other run the same boost the turbo car will make more power.

I would say the only difference is the s/c will be more everday DD than a s/c. I have heard horror story's of hot side piping blowing off, turbo's spewing oil.etc... Both are a great option and I am not knocking either.

Swapping a s/c is not always as easy. Sure it is if you have say a D1 Procharger and want to swap for a P1, but think about an Eaton factory supercharger swap to a KB. Not only does it cost a **** ton of money, it's also much harder than unbolting the hot side of the turbo and swapping in the new one and getting it retuned.

There have been horror stories about everything, superchargers, turbochargers, nitrous, hell even going N/A.

The fact is this. It all relies on the tuning. You get a good tuner and you keep the car alive.

At least with a turbo you don't have to worry about it tearing up the serpentine belt. Thats worse than the hot side of the turbo blowing off.

I just swapped out my old vans for some nikes for weight reduction. I'll let you guys know what I run at the track.
