maybe old news . . .

I just saw the commercial for the new Edelbrock e-force supercharger for the 4.6 mustang. Any thoughts on it?

I saw the same commercial! Looks cool. I think i saw an ad for them in MM&FF.

wrong area to post that in..

Isn't that for 3v only?

2nd need to move this to power adders forum

I personally think it kinda blows. It looks like a PITA to work on or to try and get ported. Kind of like rear-mounted turbos, it works but seems like too much trouble. The supercharger itself is huge too. Almost as big as the 2.8 KB from what I saw, but with less HP.

It looks a little bulky to me.

There's a guy on allfordmustangs forums who says he's putting out 430 to the wheels and still has a few tuning issues to work out.

If superchargers could be judged by looks, I'd give the E-Force a 10/10. That thing looks great under the hood. I don't think there's anything bulky about it. It's clean as hell. Looks like it belongs on the car and was there from the factory. I like it. To me, it looks much better than centrifugal superchargers with the pipes twisting in every which way.

I personally do not like the centrifugal superchargers either. I like the roots/screw type better, and to me they look cleaner as well. The cent. looks (to me) looks like a turbo trying real hard to be a supercharger. I do have 2 questions for all those who play with superchargers though. The supercoupe will fit on the 3.8, and Morana sells a refurbished one that looks real clean ( http://www.moranav6racing.com/catego...?CategoryID=40 ). They say only 4-6 psi, and I was wondering if anyone knows the max amount that can be safely pushed ( I understand that the internals of the engine would have to be beefed up). I know that you can change when it (the most psi)is delivered through the rpm range by changing the pulley which may also slightly alter the psi that it runs, but if it has some kind of boost controller this would be mute. So the other question is can you get an aftermarket boost controller or something that would allow it to build more power?

If that's what you're looking for I prefer this one.

That one does look pretty hot! Looks tall too, so I imagine you would need an aftermarket hood. The Edelbrock says that it will fit under the factory hood. My favorite is still the old Weiand twin screws from years and years ago.
